So.... just bought JABIA + Crossfire from steam and....
I wanna cheat.
Haven't even played it yet, and am I all set to return it (Steam reduced play time for returns from 4 hours to 2 hours so gotta be careful now or I get stuck with lemons).
JA2 I loved... AFTER I got a hold of this awesome editor (cant remember what it was called but everyone on Bear Pit probbaly has it) that allowed me to edit the game starting conditions (cash, xp for new mercs, number of new mercs, etc), the militia settings, Deidrianna aggression, etc).
You could even edit sector maps so I could place overpowered starting equipment on the first Sector and equip a squad of Green Berets to lead the local yahoos in an organized revolt with mortars and stuff.
I used that editor to create some epic early fights vs hordes of enemies with an elite team of custom mercs, fighting for every sector grinding out the civil war. Good times, I really lost hundreds of hours playing.
However, BEFORE I got that editor JA2 was very 'meh' to me and I actually posted a very negative review because I don't like the basic starting premise. I don't want to play the game with two or three mercs and then work my way up, I dont want to spend 4+ missions using a crappy 9mm handgun as my primary weapon because I cant afford an automatic rifle, I dont want to be sniping with a three times hand me down .303 rifle.
So.... before I spend my time messing around and downloading mods and such for JA:BIA is there any way to edit/change the starting conditions like I could in JA2?
Also, kudos to Shanga for his JA:BIA Rebalance mod! I havent used it or DL'd it, but I read about it and really like the fact he worked on JA:BIA
