so figured ctrl+. menu gives you the option to fill caanteens, I am in an area with water, how do I know if its the right kind? think I screwed myself with the choosing food system

I never use food and or disease settings, i turn them off on the INI Editor, But it's always good to experiment and see what you like/dislike in the course of your campaign. That being said, do not change settings mid-game, it messes the game up. It's best to delete your saves and start a new game with settings that you have chosen carefully.
