Being playing JA3 for a day or two and was looking for a trader to dump all the loot I've collected. In the second town I've found a lot of them, but to my surprise they have no inventory, just some lines and a couple of "tables" you can "loot" for money. A horrendously lame system, if you ask me. Is there a real trader somewhere else?

Nay, there's no Bobby Ray as well. We should be glad it turned out as well as it did, apart from this and maybe quality of animations or lack thereof, slightly excessive zoom in and samey voices for mercs, it's a really good game.

It is enjoyable. Another gripe I have is with the friendly fire. They don't seem to have any safeguards against it (proximity, staying out of fire cone, going prone). Kinda sucks but I've adapted and fight only with clear lines of sight and space between team members.

Seems like it's quite successful, if that translates into sales hopefully they won't run away with the money and we'll see some features and fixes added, I'd also like to see economy play a bigger role again and have proper trading.

As for friendly fire, tbh I haven't noticed, but could be, details like that are often omitted.

JA3 was #8 on global steam sales today. It's a massive success.

Hopefully that translates into expansions that adds features and expands on the existing ones happy

(also you can see friendly fire warnings as a blue shirt on the location icons when you aim at baddie!)

Maybe they can add in line of sight as a paid DLC then...

While I do hope the devs do some adding and changing I got a feeling it will be the mod community that takes it from an okay game to a great game. That will take time though unfortunately.

Yep, possiblity of friendly fire is denoted in the aiming interface by a blue person icon. Some mercs also have voicelines to warn of a possible mishap.

There are no traditional traders like Tony where you open a window and browse through their wares. On the flip side, there are quite a few merchants sprinkled around the countryside, even on docs, farms and hunting camps. I would very much enjoy a trader's inferface and more items added to them but for that to work they also need to rework most items to be able to be traded for money or at least bartered.

All in all, it is a serviceable mechanic - you get some ammo and explosives every now and the and npossibly some skill magazines. But it can be expanded and made better. happy

A Bobby Ray mod has shown up over at Nexus, I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

That would be nice!

Edit: Been reading the JA3 Steam discussions and they have a mod as well. Not sure if its related to the Nexxus mod but it works but is a work in progress. Give it another day or so for the author to work out all the kinks. Its called Bobby Ray's Fleamarket.
