Hello,

I could use some help, as I am stuck. I have made it down to the basement and cleared all the rooms I could get to. (all southern rooms). There are still three doors on the northern wall I can not open, pick or blow open. I have also pressed in a switch in one central room. The far right northern locked door is in the middle of the area, next to the bathrooms, the middle locked door is in a room with a vat, and the far left locked door is against the nothtern wall again in a far left hallway. I have searched for a key and also tried my key cards. NO LUCK here.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I hear tons of noises coming from the other side.

thanks,
JBF

You need to have Trevor or somone really high in lockpicking AND electonics. Then you need the best lockpicking equipment (Grumm eletronics store, make sure you don't steal anything).

thanks for the fast help. I need to clarify a bit. I have been using Nails for locking picking the whole game and he is up to just a point or so below Trevor's stats, but I am not sure what you mean by strong in electronics as well as mechanical/dexterity. What skill would electroinics be? Also, the electronics shop in Grumm fixes electroinc things, but does not sell anything. All I have for lockpicking is a lockpicking kit. Have I missed something better?

thanks again

He is saying the merc needs to have electronics as a specialty , mercs i know that have that are Trevor , Lynx , Gumpy and maybe Red . Nails just has lockpicking as a specialty afaik . Those doors in the basement are electronic therefore they require an electronics specialist . The specialist will need high mech to pick the lock , therefore hire Trvor if you really want that door open . As far as equipment , you just need the lockpicks .

There are keycards in the security center (the middle room containing 2 or 3 elites) or possibly on the elites themselves. However, there is a locked door on the far left side that is very difficult to open.

Normally you get the scientist in the basement to open the locked door on the left side. You can do this by threatening him a lot with a high level merc.

Barry has lockpicking/electronics skills so he is just as good as Trevor (if you train him up that is) but is a lot cheaper.

I've heard it said that you can kick in the unpickable doors if you have the patience of Job. Just keep kicking, rotating your mercs when they get winded, until the door opens. I've tried this on other doors (it works) but not on that Orta door.

Somebody claimed that you can use a LAW to blast your way in. The trick is to aim at the wall beside the door rather than the door itself. I think I tried that but it didn't work for me.

I'll dig up this old thread. I'm just playing (the mod) Night Ops and am in Orta. Already upstairs was frustrating, because two opponents were hidden behind unopenable doors so I needed all my explosives to get to them (and the basement). Because you can't talk to the guy whom you have to bribe for him to open the doors while opponents are still alive.

In the basement I have the same problem - at least one opponent is hidden behind that unopenable door, hence I can't threaten the other scientist either. Barry is there (dex 91/mec 91) but can't lockpick the door. Having run out of explosives I placed a mortar shell, a couple of 40 mm grenades, a couple of RPG grenades and everything else explosive right in front/next to the door and it blows up nicely, doesn't leave a scratch, though. Do I just forget about it?

Yeah, I know about the guy in Estoni. Though I think his card is only good for opening the door on the ground floor, not for the basement.

Anyway, I solved it! I had one last hope - going back upstairs and then downstairs again and the guy appears somewhere else. And he did, I killed him and then bullied the scientist into opening that final door. It appears that the door cannot be opened any other way.
