I've read through the problems others have faced and this looks new...

After installing and patching Jagged Alliance 2 (original or Gold) it runs with messed up video. I can see thing but their are moving lines through everything. The game intro, the starting menu and the actual gameplay. I have:
Win XP, Athlon 3200+, 704 MB of RAM, Geforce 6100 (onboard). I don't have any anti-virus software running.

I'm planning on trying to run it on another computer or putting in a motherboard with a better/different video card.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem but fortunately is it easy solved by enabling vertical sync in Ja2_Options.INI

Okay! Good to know that it's a problem that can be fixed! Hmm, how do I enable vertical sync once I have Ja2_Options.ini open?

Well, just change VERTICAL_SYNC = FALSE to VERTICAL_SYNC = TRUE

Well this makes it more interesting, it's not there. I put the line in anyway and I still have the same problem. I double checked the install of the 1.13 patch and that looks okay therefore it shouldn't be the issue. I have lines like:

Judging from the lines you posted are you using a rather old version of the 1.13. Download the september release (502) from http://81.169.133.124/~lalien/release/ and change the vertical sync and everything should work.

Ah yes, making progress. You are right, a very different version of 1.13. Installed it but I think after installing so many versions it just didn't work right (actually it looks worse now for some reason, the screen scrolls now but the scrolling graphics look better!) so I'm going to reinstall everything. JA2 v1.13 Release [1.0.0.502].exe

Hmm, reinstalled everything, just used JA 2 instead of Gold. Used that 1.13 patch you showed the link for. Tried all three graphic settings with v-sync on and off but the screen just rolls. I don't have any other problems with video games either... I'm at a loss.
