Well...I went to Omerta and everybody was hostile. I was forced to kill everybody, including civilians like Fatima and Pacos. About half my mercs lost most of their morale. Mercs like Fox and Wolf took a morale hit for every civilian killed. I did find the second Hummer though.

Now I guess I should head over to Tracona to rebuild the morale of the troops.

Well, I found out what fits into a tool bag:

1) lockpicks
2) crowbar
3) metal detector
4) wire cutters

Unfortunately, the lockpicks won't work from inside the bag...and therefore I doubt that the metal detector will either.

On the topic of recruitable NPC's ... I recruited Ivanova and that Italian guy, any others out there that are recruitable ?

I heard that that UN-chick, Randa, was recruitable, but nothing works for me.

Oh yeah, where can I find that DV-camera ? I have the PalmPC with module, but can't find the damned camera. :pawprint:

K-rations... what do you use them for ?

(I know they give energy, but fail to see their use in-game)

Funny thing happened to my mercs...

I was in the shot-up town at the river-crossing with all the tanks, when all of a sudden the militia and the enemy stopped attacking eachother and instead turned there efforts on my little outfit. :pawprint:

Well, once you get the DV-Camera (I finally found one in Catalina, N4), you can build the "x-ray device" or whatever it's called in B2B. With that in hand, you can tell when enemy troops are just inside a doorway or on a rooftop. Forwarned, you can use the K-ration to pump up your APs so you can go in and beat them up and steal their weapons.

Also in Catalina (in N4 as well I think) is a SAS veteran (lvl8) on vacation. His name is Bodie and his skills are (I think) AW/ST. He is recruitable.

Okay, I've been trying to make this x-ray device for 2 days now.

I have the palm pc with module attached and a DV-camera with cable attached.... how do I combine these infernal things ? :pawprint:

The DV-Camera needs to have the cable AND a microphone attached. THEN combine that unit with the palm/module.

Also, you MAY need to use a merc with the ELECTRONICS skill, like Barry or Trevor, to put the thing together.

Depends on what you mean by "good", but probably not.

He does have .45AP, which is good since I use MAC10s a lot. He stocks 5.56 and 7.62NATO as well, useful since Tracona is mainly equipped with WarsawPact weapons and it's hard to come by NATO ammo over there.

But as for weapons, well, I haven't seen any LMGs or G36s or Galils. He does have that one Barrett, but that's it. Attachments seem to be mainly bipods and silencers, rather than lasers or scopes.

Still, once I got to Catalina (and Mibo), top of the line weapons like M60s, P90s, G11s, G36s etc. were easily found. For instance, every team member now has a silenced P90 as a backup, except for Fox who prefers a pair of MAC10s.

Also, I have a surplus of barrel extenders but I am a bit tight on rod and springs.

So the bottom line is, Mickey is good for ammo resupply but you pretty much need to get your weapons somewhere else.

Does anybody have a list of weapons available in the game ?

Are there any other armor pants aside from the spectra and kevlar ones ?

Are there any other armor add-ons aside from the ceramic plate ?

Questions, questions... I know Razz

tnx,

:pawprint:

ps: ah yes, where exactly do I use this remote control I found in Catalina ? (I don't mean a remote trigger)

Since B2B is essentially a modified version of UB, you can use a program like JA2wedit to extract the weapon data.

There are only 2 armoured pants in the game.

No other armour add-ons.

No idea about the remote control....

The weapons include:
M60, BAR, Minimi, RPK74

G36, SC70/90, L85, M16A2, AK74, G11, Steyr, FAMAS, AKM, M14, Galil, G3A3, FN-FAL

Barrett, crossbow, Dragunov, PSG1, Enforcer

plus lots more.

My favorites in each category are:
Pistol - SOCOM
SMG - P90 or MAC10 if P90 not available
Assault Rifle - G36
Battle Rifle - Galil
Sniper Rifle - Barrett
LMG - M60, although the BAR is also quite nice.

My favorites are:

Pistol - SOCOM w/laser sight, extended barrel, rod/spring and silencer

SMG - MAC10 w/laser sight, extended barrel, rod/spring and silencer or P90 w same add-ons

Rifle - FN FAL w/laser sight, scope and grenade launcher or IMI Galil w same add-ons

Sniper - PSG1 w/bipod, rod/spring, laser sight and scope (Barrett and ammo simply weigh too much)

Don't have much use for LMG's

For the MAC10s, I like to give a pair of them sniper scopes instead of rod&springs and give them to Fox. They are the only 1 hand SMGs that can accept scopes. In pistols, I think that only the .357 can take a scope and the MAC10 is better than that.

I don't have much use for sniper rifles, but I like the Barrett for it's one shot one kill ability.

The M60 LMG is great because it has a low burst penalty. Non AutoWeapon mercs can use it quite well. The BAR is good because you can equip it with a laser, scope and grenade launcher and use it like a big assault rifle. I usually give them to Ivan and Buzz since they have AW AND HW skills. Its only drawback is that you can't find AP ammo for it.

Great work on the Back To Business mod men, I have been playing it for awhile and have only encountered an occasional lockup using Windows XP, caused by the sound bit looping continuously when a Merc spots something and or says his lines. Except for the tips listed here I have no clue about what I am supposed to do or what quests are being offered. An English translation will make this an outstanding and virtually bug free addition to Jagged Alliance and well worth waiting for.

I'm replaying the game and I've entered Cock City during the day instead of night as I would normally do. As a result, I get to talk to Sven (a Hick) instead of having him turn hostile on me. It turns out that he has a set of UV goggles for sale for $2000 BUT it took me awhile to figure out how to pay him!

For some reason, you have to give him 2 payments of 1000 each instead of a single 2000 wad.

Also in the same sector, there is a exit marker near the middle of the map (near a coke machine). However, this exit point goes nowhere and it will crash the game if you try to use it.

Great mod! got out my dusty JA2UB again just for that Smile

hope some1 can help me out here. i explored everything on the mainland, without paying too much attention to the quest. now i'm stuck:

1. without the ring. i read that Sneaker has it and i know i already saw him somewere, but cant find him anymore. any hints for me pls?

2. i got the blackbox and in the History it says i got a disk as well (but somehow none of my mercs has it...is it supposed to be the "Umschlag"?). where was the NPC that wanted the stuff? do i actually need to find him again as i found the plane already?

3. i cant hire Rocco. i tried giving him every Beretta gun i could find (as posted here, i also tried the 12 SMG), he still keeps saying he wants an "Italian gun" :whoknows:

4. i checked K9 for Gogo, couldnt see him anywhere. i also looked "1 sector south" for the shop, cant find 1 either Sad

5. some1 wrote that the path to the island starts in the palace in Catalina. there is an underground entrance in the gardenhouse, but i couldn't figure out how to get to the next sector from there. am i right there?

6. what do ppl mean by "teleporter from airport"? can i fly between airports on the map?

7. can i refuel the cars? i tried using "Kanister" with the cars, but they are still empty.

any help is greatly appreciated Smile

1) K14
2) The disk was given to you by Benito in the ruined radar station (I10). The guy that wants the disk and the blackbox is in CockCity (Dr. Bach). It's not critical to solving the game, basically it adds a new entry to your "Files" list.
3) Well, I hired him by giving him the Beretta SMG...you may need to have a merc with higher leadership. Also, he responds better to Direct instead of Friendly.
4) Gorgo is in J9. It's the sector with the big tank battle. Keiths shop is in K9.
5)That is the right entrance. After you clear that level you should find a staircase down. If you take it, you should find a mining type area with railroad tracks. The mine cars are the exit point (basically you ride the train to Mibo).
6) There is a teleport in one of the planes in CockCity that takes you back to your starting sector airport(but you can't get back). Also, there is an airport near Catalina that has a helicopter that has a teleport to the oil platform.
7)You can refuel the cars. Have a Kanister in the active hand. Then move your merc nearby but NOT ADJACENT TO a car. Then right click to get the fueling symbol and click on a car. The merc will walk up to the car, kneel down and start refueling.

thnx alot bane! Smile

Finally got the ring! Dr.Bach didnt want my blackbox, and Rocco is still looking for his gun, but thats their problem now Wink

also found the shop, i'm almost certain Keith wasnt there the last time i looked...weird. but he got nothing i want anyways (was hoping for another arms dealer, running out of NATO ammunition).

so now it's oil platform, then island Smile

greets, minime

I'm on my second game and I found a few more things I missed last time.

1) I found a AKMS near CockCity that had a silencer equipped! Of course, if you take it off, you can't put it back on...I gave it to Stephen, my sniper, as a backup to his Dragunov. That way he can use the same ammo for both weapons.

2) I translated the speechs for Col. Pegasus. It appears that he can be recruited! I haven't done it yet, but it appears that if I present him with a certain item, he will sign up.

i'm still trying to figure out my fav gun.

sniper: Barett M95, as long as the merc has enough strenght. otherwise the H&K PSG1, but havent been using it that often atm.

rifle: Galil. i got the feeling it does more damage than all other guns in that damage class, ie. the M60, FN FAL, FN Minime, Sig, Steyr etc.

i love the p90 as backup gun for snipers and other long range gunners. same for the G11.

my fav mercs atm are me, Bodie and Trevor. im a bit disappointed by Gus. he is way too slow in stealth and he cant really open any locks. i just use him to talk to ppl.

geez, i luv this game for all the various setup possibilities Very Happy

btw, how does the XM-3 detector work? how far is the range?

well i finally finished the mission with some luck though. in the last level i didnt know how to actually open the doors. an enemy finally opened 1 of them.
how was that supposed to work? i was a bit disappointed by the end. i did expect more enemies or at least a tougher fight. other levels were far more challenging.

I finished the game. Not as difficult to get through the language barrier as I first thought, but it is certainly annoying to not know exactly what's going on. The game is pretty difficult in the begining, with poor guns and armor, lots of tanks and few LAWs or RPG-7s to kill them. The latter part has very good guns and armor, but few tanks. Enemy has mortars all through the game, but you get them only toward the end. Save often. SAVE OFTEN !! Save EVERY time before talking to characters. If you want to play this game be sure to read all the previous posts for hints.

Sinclair, where are you ???

Well, Back 2 Business is rather old.

I wanted to play it again and it's fun.

But like back in the days, there are tons of questions.

I remember that the npc-script/quest-trigger and interaction could be, well challenging.

I just found the disk with the hint to crashsite and it adds the radarmap to the external files.

I didn't talk to John before, but when I met him and he gave a hint to radarstation, the radarmap vanished from the external files.

I had a save, so that's fine. Vut I'm pretty sure there was more tricky stuff to keep in mind.

There has been kinda walkthrough attached to original download, but this is no longer part of any download I could find.

If any body old enough to remeber about B2B may has this walkthrough or can provide info on which interactions and dialouge to be catious about,

that'll be great.

Stuff like, when talking to x, take care that you first did y. or, this corridors in sector xy tend to block any further movement (get stuck in basement),

if you don't do this and that to avoid this.

And anybody who doesn't know B2B yet, it's fun. Give it a try.

How to get: latest 1.13, 7609 and more | 7609 SCI (eng) | Compiling+SVN

I need more details. (Didi Hallervorden)

It's a rather old (but fun) mod for UB.

As far as I recal, it comes with own exe (a modified UB.exe), so it probably won't work with 1.13.

How to get: latest 1.13, 7609 and more | 7609 SCI (eng) | Compiling+SVN

I need more details. (Didi Hallervorden)
