We put it out back in 2001(?)

Is there still some replayability?

Has Urban Chaos taken the fun of killing Dee off of the market?

I just played it again a couple weeks ago. I think it is the most enjoyable mod I've played.

UC is like a huge bag of halloween candy. There are a lot of great things in it, but eventually, it just gets to be too much; and I get sick of it before it's finished.

Every once in a while i get the urge again. "One man army" or limited teams. Hardly finish the game though, after a while (much like the original too) your team gets too good (equipment and stats). The game becomes less fun after that. Every fight is a sure win without much problems. At that point i quit again and after a while restart a new game.
For some reason i go back to DL most of the time.

You are right Roadkill. I am half way UC and even Rosebud can shoot well after a while.

try DL with WeaponX's "8000+ enemies" savegame - insane!
although you'll have to be content with the characters with their original JA2 stats, eg Slay will have Dmitri's stats {to me, Slay is the best feature of this mod}.

Got DL three days ago.

I'm in heaven.

Enough silencers and/or auto-silenced weapons (bless Steyr for the TMP) so that my Night Ops/Ambidextrous IMP together with Raven and Scope can wreak havoc early on.

What I like the most is that for the weapon accessories, like Laserpointers, Silencers, Bipods and Scopes, DL gives one that early on.

That, together with Bobby Ray's - and I absolutely love it, buying all the stuff I need instead of having to find it is so wonderful - and a few other things (Silenced sniper rifles that I already in Alma (Drassen-Alma-Cambria-Tixa-Grumm-Chitzena-Balime-Orta-Meduna works fine for me), makes DL a wonderwonderwonderful mod.

Today I bought the english version of JA2 (my good old german version has accompanied me since it was released Smile ), and I'm all too eager to try out Urban Chaos - although I think that I'll get some MAJOR arse-whooping there Mad

Dedrianna Lives is the best mod that I have played for JA2, and i've played them all I think.

Yap, still playin' it. Yesterday I finished, killing Dee on that island south of Balime, after terminating the t2000 Smile .

Now I am in progress with new char, doing solo (just player made char with help of the people from Omerta) as always. I am 30 days in the game, being lv.9, liberated Drassen, Chitzena, and Cambria, along with two northern sam sites. It is a great mod. I've played them all, they are all great, just love the game JA2, I am playing this game (modded versions) for over four years and never get enough of it) The best game ever.

Only thing I miss in this mod is VSS Vintorez - my no.1 weapon of choice.

Sorry for poor english.

I just re-installed it last night. Love the mod!
I really like the fact that you use HP ammo for more than just a few baddies really early on.

I'm just gaga over the weapons too. All I need know is for Khor to finish up that WW2 mod...and I'll never need another game again.

i'm playing it right now... absolutely love it... the only drawback... is that i cannot activate the clue card... oh well... who needs to backgroud story if there are tons of new weapons to kill baddies with Smile
but seriously tho... would like to know the story on the cards... is there a thread that posts the text of the clue card? i searched but cannot seem to find it...
anyway... great mod... can't wait to finish... by then... on to UC!!!

Exactly what do you mean by that? What are you doing, and what is the result?

I had some trouble with the clue cards in the past when I was running Win98SE, but they are working much better now that I'm running WinXP. I use the Windows button on my keyboard to minimize the game and reveal the DL loading window (or whatever it's called). Then, I click the Review Game Clue button, type the keycode into the box, and click OK. After clicking on JA2 in the taskbar to restore it, the text for that keycard appears in the Files section of the laptop. There are a few that generate an error message and crash the DL loading window (like the one Kingpin drops), but most of them work fine for me.

i thought the clue cards were supposed to load information directly into the ingame laptop. However, when i check the file section, the only items in there were the recon report.
right now i'm using windows ME... you mentioned the DL loading window... i am afraid i do not know how to activate that. i have a shortcut on my desktop that leads directly into the game. is the icon for the dl loading window copied into the JA2 game file when i installed DL? i went to the game folder but do not know which one it is.

I think you should have a shortcut for it in your Start/Programs menu somewhere (I don't remember the default location; I changed it here). There should be a shortcut called "Jagged Alliance 2 Deidranna Lives!" which runs JA2DL.exe. This is how you should start the game. It brings up a window with some options which include running the game and entering game clues. You have to type the keycodes in here manually as I described earlier.

If that shortcut on your desktop doesn't run JA2DL.exe, then you should either quit using it or edit it so that it does.

How do you get the 8000+ saved game to work with DL? I know, it's a really stupid question, but I have to ask it anyway.

All of the keycard information overwrites the Recon Report. You won't see a new list of files like you do with the bounty information from Carmen. Look at the Recon Report after entering the keycode. If you don't see the new information at first, try clicking on the forward and back arrows a few times while viewing the report; that usually worked for me when I had problems with it.

I finished UC (awesome mod) and reinstalled DL the next day.
Things that I like about DL:
* Feels like regular JA2, but with a little more of everything. Love the gun runners.
* Games go quicker than UC.
* Slay

I love the gun runners. I took Cambria after Drassen, and fought the gun runners as well as the army (went in at night). I got the mini-gun and a G36 (with rod and spring).
In a sortie out of the town, I took on some regulars and got a Barrett.

Crazy fun.
