Hi,

I installed UC recently and now finished the first sector (twice, due to the patch).

Not much, I know, but I got a busy life on the side. I still have a couple of questions however...

First: does anyone recruit rosebud (that slow guy that does about everything with cargo boxes). He's a HtH expert with knuckle dusters, but I searched the forum and saw no-one mention him...

Second: at what difficultylevel do you start the game? Me, I play novice. I'm still relative new to the game (only finished the original twice before UC came out (novice/daytime and experienced/NO)). Playing novice helps me to learn the flow of UC (storyline, where to go and stuff) without paying to much attention to money management and strategic dept (more starting money and easier enemies).

I love Rosebud. I would've hired him just for his lines. But he quickly became my main locks cracker. And my best and cheapest mechanic. Invaluable. And he can hit his fair share with a decent gun. No sniper, but he for CQB his newly found AKSU does some damage... Very Happy

Between him and Bull and even Steroid....they kick major ass in a hand to hand fight! I hired them for one day (Rosie recruited) when I knew I was going to be fighting with shovels and box cuters. Wink They cleaned house!!!

not quite free, he costs $50 a day, but thats a bargain for his quotes, the ones he says in the sectors in calisto kept me chuckling for ages.

What's $50 bucks today? He's the cheapest source of fun you get in Danubia, except from Rude's comments.

Rosebud makes a great lockpicker ...er crowbar user to get into just about anything that's troublesome for a lockpick specialist Smile If he can't do it, then grab you some TNT LOL

Except one! I was in the stadium next to the hospital (durr, was it Gallileo?). There is a dressing room with an enemy in it. Both doors next to each other are locked and neither Steroid or Rosebud could open them I had to retreat and picked up all explosives that were in Danubia and went back. (My first attempt with 5 Molotovs, 2 Grenades and 1 Mini had failed to damage either door or wall). When I was back, a bloody civilian opened the door and that was it. I got an interrupt and 'urgh' went the redshirt. A F*CKING panicking CIVILIAN!!! *hits keyboard until letters are imprinted on forehead!*

I use Barry for lock picking in my A team (a lock picker will eventually need electronics?), but Rosebud is tons of fun. I just had a battle where my C team (Rosie & Spider, Postie, Tex & Jubilee) assaulted a sector north of Gallileo. They were really just on a gear haul to Gallileo (my A team were sitting there recuperating from the wounds sustained taking it) and weren't expecting the level of opposition they met. It turned out to be a casino with loads of cash, but 20 defenders including at least 4 elites. Spider did the real damage with a silenced M4, but Rosie did his share, taking hits that would have killed anyone else, providing covering fire for Spider, lobbing for miles grenades taken off the dead bgs, whacking people with a crow bar and stealing weapons, etc, etc. The other 3 did little after the initial charge, having taken critical wounds. I think the squad would have gone down without Rosie.
