I havent't finnished the game yet, but from reading the forums i believe only non sniper rifles benefit from scopes (because sniper rifles have included a scope, thats why they are called sniper systems).
That being said, the PSO1 can only be used with the scoped M4 (M4 with PSo 1 adapter).

But if you happen to find another weapon with it (they say its bugged weapons) and it is not a sniper rifle just leave it there. You got lucky.

AFAIK there is no other scope for Western weapons.

Try Scoped M4A1 with and w/o PSO-1 - it makes difference between kill and be killed...
I`ve found M16A2/M203 with PSO-1 (bugged) and use it as primary weapon for my IMP. I have found Dragunov with PSO-1 as well, but removed it (it is useless on Dragunov) and attached to another M4A1.
Btw. I agree with abradley that Scoped M4A1 with all attachements (incl. R&S) is almost all you need in night missions.

Sorry for digging up this old thread, but I fund adapters and pso-1 scopes, and can't combine them... how do I do that? Does it work on the M4 you get from RughDog or what's his name - the dude in the first town, in Urban Chaos? Does it work in 1.13?

Edit: I'm playing the newest version of the hybrid.

Well, the age of this thread should give you a hint that something might have been changed in the items and attachments department of this mod...

The PSO-1 (and it's more farsighted brother, the PSO-3) is a Russian scope and therefore can only be fitted to (most, but not all) Russian rifles.
The Colt M4A1 definitely is not a Russian rifle... Wink

Thanks a lot Hazmat.

In 1.13 you can't merge the items before you put them on, you just have to add all to the gun:

M4+trigger group (you loose the burst function, it shots slower and the pic changes) -> then you add the adapter and the picture will change again adding a scope, although not giving you any bonus yet. -> then you can attach the scope, but the APs go seriously up, being only slightly faster than a sniper gun (38 for a shot!) - and the AP to ready went up too...

You can put the scope on certain AKs too, but they get reeealy slow... probably, because you have to rub your tears away from getting hit by the scope in the eye! Very Happy

Seems like the adapter already has the disadvantages of a scope... frown
I will stay with the trigger, but the adapter malus is just too big.
