i found out that this tactic is one of the best out there.

create or hire a merc who has Stealthy and Throwing as traits. try to find a throwing knife (if you create a stealthy/throwing merc he will have a throwing knife from the beginning). next you need to find yourself a camo kit wich is easy since you can fins em in the most of the buildings. wait for the nightfall, since suprising is much easier in the night. Then use the camo kit on yourself and start walking around in stealthy mode. Most of the time you get to beging the battle,(at least i got to) so it's just easy to full aim the enemy in the head with a throwing knife and throwing knife does instant kills most of the time. so with this tactic you can take em out without alerting other enemies. oh, but you always need to go to the dead body and get the knife back, don't worry use your head and you will success.

many people have said that UC is too difficult, but with this tactic it will get easier. i used it myself and took out 15 redshirts+some polices without them even knowing about me. Wink

I have a stealthy/ night ops guy and use the same tactics. Still in the early stages of the game but I totally prefer them to a silenced gun, especially since a throwing knife to the head seems to kill anything, even if the bad guy knows I am there.

Don't forget to throw the knives at the ground to "clean them". They have better "to-hit" values when they are not "bloody".

There are lots of excellent posts on incorporating throwing knives in the "JA2 Solutions Tips and Spoilers Forum". I think I heard a rumour that throwing knives may be changed a bit in the upcoming patch.... I could be wrong, though. :whoknows:

How do clean bloody knifes? I've tried but in couldn't clean them.

throw them into the ground. equip them as per normal and right click on any ground, then left click to throw. Collect the knife and it will be clean.

It's hard to tell, but I *think* that throwing knives are not as effective in UC as in JA2. Accuracy seems to be reduced AND damage is a bit odd. On several occasions I hit a target for massive damage (~50 pts) and he didn't die! In JA2, it was either instant kill or mediocre (~15 pts) damage.

yeah, either that or the enemies are more resilient. i love using throwing knives, but in UC, unless u have a throwing merc, its not possible for an outright kill a lot of time. All my forward mercs carry a full complement of 4 knives Smile
