Curious has anybody looked into removing or increasing the number of clip sizes per caliber?

There are some extra slots for ammo types. Tonight I made one of these blank slots .32 cal (really crappy round in my opinion but more than a few WW2 guns used it). This worked well. I'll try messing with increasing the number of clip sizes and report here if I'm successful.

Because I don't know C I doubt I'll be able to do it though.

If you look at UB they do have more than two clip sizes per caliber I believe, but that was a messed up version of JA2.

In ver 1.12 I think it's possible but it might require some C tweaking - Over to the programmers to confirm that.

I wil be trying to do three clip sizes per caliber as a test if you like with an original 1.12 exe and wedit.

Will post results in the next few weeks.

won't be able to get 3 per... the tables are of fixed size... and you can't just extend the table blindly, because of other pieces of code reply on being the way it is... there appears to be enough room to add a few definitions

I wasn't intending on extending the table rather using the exisiting size and using three clip sizes per ammo type.

There are spare entries below the currently used ammo types, the only problem being I would have to re-enter all the positional data for every single map which contained modified ammo!

But as a test to see if it works then its not a problem.

Howdy Rowdies!

I allready did this with the source-code and it worked well. I don't know if it is working with WEdit, because I never use this program. If there is still some request for this issue I could shortly describe how I managed it. Although I think that everyone who has ever took a look at the code should get it done quickly.

There is definately still an interest in being able to do this.

I'm wondering if it is possible to make a patch that does this so us rookies can still use Wedit?

Howdy Rowdies!

Sorry guys but I didn't test it enough, so I just noticed that I get a little bug while reloading a weapon with a unmatching bullet-number. I added the 50 rounds 9mm magazine from UB. Now when you reload Calico guns with a 30 rounds smg-magazine you get a 50 rounds 9mm with 30 rounds in it, that's okay, but when you reload them with a 15 rounds pistol-magazine you get a half filled 30 rounds smg-magazine (like it should be for the MP5K for example). The ja2.exe-file only jumps one item up or down in the itemlist, I'll look whether I can fix this.
Sorry that I raised your hope, next time just ask me 3 times if I'm really sure that I made it before I announce something like this Smile .

That's not the end of the world. When I eject the rounds out of the Breda LMG (which I haven't made a clip for because I read the magazine is attached on a hinge). I think 30.06 comes out. Of course I made the weapon 6.5mm and rounds from the Carcano load into it but when you hit eject....

What I'm going for is variable loading speeds for different weapons in this mod. Without speedloaders, a revolver would be slower to load than a Schmeisser. With this in mind I made revolver ammo in groups of three instead of six. I could have got even pickier about this but I don't want the mod to be at all complicated to use. I especially don't want to tax the game engine.
