Alright, here's the deal: I've never even played Jagged Alliance 2. Always wanted to, but for some reason, I just never have. I don't know any of the acronyms related to the game, or any of the terminology that may be used. It can make it difficult to find what I am looking for without assistance of someone who is a bit more seasoned with this particular environment.

Tonight I started looking for games similar to Fallout 2 which I might be able to access the source code for. I was pleasantly surprised. This game is a perfect fit for what I am thinking, and the source is available.

So here are my questions:

How do I gain access to the source code? If I buy the game on Steam or Good Old Games, can I afterwords access the source? Is either preferable for this use?

A question that I figure there is an answer to out there: Is there a guide for getting started opening and viewing the source? I have no idea where to start searching aside from searching the forums for "source code"... Then questions arise such as:
"Should I look within the vanilla game section, or elsewhere?"
"It's probably somewhere in this 'JA2 Technical Department' but I have no idea where or under what name. Crap?"
"Google, none of this is really what I am looking for, why can't you read my mind better?"
"This seems like a friendly environment of like-minded people interested in truly great games, might they help me?"

Can anyone give me a hand or point me in the right direction, please?

Thank you.
