I presume so.
Press the "identify button" (see your pic). If there is 1 big '1' shown on the TV, your presumption is right.
CrashGordon94Sam_HotteTry setting the desktop resolution to the one you play the game in (e.g. 640 x 480) and have the TV to show desktop completely. On starting the game in fullscreen mode it should be displayed OK then.

How do I find this resolution? The one I showed was the only one I know of.
It's the one in the pic; set 'screen resolution' to 640x480 (and maybe even 'color quality' to 16 bit).
Disable Laptop's display so that the whole screen, everything is shown on TV only.
Now move the mouse around on the TV. If mouse pointer does vanish on left side your TV is probably overscanning this resolution (as Jmich said). You'll need to read TV's documentation in order to find out how to disable this.
