Hi!

What if there was a new website similar to Ebay (or Armslist, Gunbroker, ect http://thepit.ja-galaxy-forum.com/images/message_icons/icon12.gif) where you could auction on different items and gear? The items would have a somewhat randomized starting bid, typically much lower than their initial cost. This would be a good potential opportunity for the player to obtain some items and weapons at a lower value than Bobby Rays, but it wouldn't be without some added complications:

  • Getting Outbid: Bids will occasionally be made against the item, replacing the current bid with a higher value
  • Duration: The randomized amount of days the item will be listed for. If the player has the final bid, they will be shipped the item
  • Shipping Costs: Shipping costs are randomized, and a player might not pay attention to the shipping cost listed (lol like real life)
  • Durability (Hidden): The durability typically matches with the listed condition of the item (Like New, Good, Acceptable, Bad), but may be secretly lower
  • Hotness (Hidden): An item would have a set hotness value, which affects how often bids are made against the item. The hotness might increase if the player visits the item page a lot, and might decrease if the bid surpasses the actual value

The website design could be pretty barebones, perhaps only a single page. Could be a fun alternative to Bobby Rays for a player who likes to gamble a bit and are less particular.
