did anyone know this? according to the source there's a bonus to training in markmanship at the training facility in Alma...news to me.

Yes, as far as I recall that exists till JA1: You get a learning bonus when using the shooting range.

 So, you're saying Marksmanship is easier/faster to train in Alma? If so, that is definately news to me. Thanx for the tip Lanfear! I'm going to try this out next regular Ja2 game I play.
I'm wondering if the same goes for the town that corresponds to Alma in UC. I assume it does since they basically overwrote that map. It's 'special features' should still be there.

I don't recall, but I think it is due to the specific object (row of shooting targets), not a specific sector. As long as you keep shooting at this specific object, your MRK trains faster.

according to the source, if you are in that sector while practicing/student in markmanship, you get a bonus. it's the sector where the academy is based(conrad, general, the sergeant that gets blown up, you know which one i mean...

Nope, it only applies to actual mercs on your team practicing/studenting in markmanship. However, there seems to be a bonus when the person training the militia is a local(Ira, Dimitri, Carlos, Miguel) due to being more familiar with local customs. Nothing impressive though, and this applies everywhere, not just in Alma.
