I'm a little lost, so I figure the quickest way to get un-lost is to post my questions:

[1] source control
Has someone implemented a source control system (CVS?) so that people aren't hacking the code willy-nilly? Where is it and what do I need for a client? What's the peer review/inspection process?

[2] to-do list
Is someone keeping an overall list of things to do and who's doing them (and status?)? If so, I'd like to get the current code and get to work on something.

[3] mailing lists/coder forums
Is there a list or forum for posting questions - stupid things like getting the danged thing to compile, etc. Or has someone already put together a FAQ?

[4] testing
All code is buggy. Aside from peering in changes, is anyone testing the builds on a regular/irregular basis?

Cheers in advance.

I had the same questions when I came here and found little help in terms of a CVS repository anywhere. There is a "white hat" project which isn't getting half enough advertising.

My advice is to use this board to ask questions and coordinate. I know most of the SGP now since I got it working over SDL/Linux. This is graphics, threads, input, timer, and a few other things. The audio I simply nulled out.

I'll put up a project this coming weekend. Unfortunately new job started today and I'm too busy to go through the sf.net process of getting a project page. In fact, I'm not sure the Strategy First license will be accepted.

In any case I'll post if I manage in organizing this into a project. Otherwise I'll just contribute my changes to whatever project I can find.

The Whitehat project slowed down since it's core members stopped showing up. It needs a dedicated leader (Digicrab doesn't seem to be around lately), too.

Whoever is interestered, Bear's Pit will always help as much as we can.

Well I just hit a roadblock. According to the sf.net site docs the ja2 source and an associated project cannot be hosted there unless i can get someone at sourceforge to make an exception. The JA2 license is too restrictive and breaks compatibility with OSI. Does anyone know of a service, similar to sf.net, where I can host my SDL port?

I shouldn't be able to code for a long time. My father is writing a book and always use the computer. I'm out of the project for several weeks or maybe months, because of a possible new job for me. good luck everyone.
