Uh, well I wanted to stay clear off that topic, for obvious reasons, but... curiosity killed the cat.

It's quite natural that DL, as an older MOD, had less features due to the technical limitations of that time. So technically, Wildfire is bound to be superior (as most newer MODs anyway). How well implemented the MOD will be I do not know, considering I've never heard anything but rumours, and I don't know R.A. or Popoff, but I am still disappointed of the 'expansion' being a MOD and not an expansion.
Edit: Hey, instead of complaining about the "hospital" (which does indeed show lack of proffesionalism) actually LEARN HOW Deidranna is spelled

OK, I've been hibernating about JA2 for a long time now, but then I heard something about the "New" Wildfire mod...
This Mod is like a history lesson for me. Ah... *basks in past glory days* Good times...
It's funny, because I'm listening to all the complaints, and yet without Wildfire, there would be no JA2 mods. (Well, no, not true at all, but they'd be about a year behind of where they are now.)
My weapon editor was made after Wildfire released his first mod way back in the day, and I made the editor partially because so many people couldn't stand his changes! Some things in life don't change.
But his mod was the only place to get an un-encrypted .exe in those days (the Russians were *way* ahead in JA2 mods back then...), and it was the only way I was able to crack the code for making weapon mods. So, yeah, he's the great-granddaddy of all JA2 mod makers.
Of course, one impression I got from Wildfire was that he was kinda possessive of his stuff. I don't think he really wanted everybody else to know how he made all the changes. He seemed to not want us all tinkering with his mod, and seemed to take it personally when people suggested changes.

Huh, wonder what that guy's problem was?
