They list this file here for download but it does't work. I was wondering if anyone knew where to get it? Or if anyone has it to share?

Nowadays you can just use the 'Beta' Map Editor (or just compile yourself the JA2 Final Debug Version) to create 'fully functional' maps (ie with creatures, militia, npc-s, civilians, vehicles, locks etc) and then use an utility called UB-Map-Converter to convert the ja2 format map to ub format map. Then just open the ub format map in the ubeditor or just copy it in your maps directory and start playing.

I managed to find the Beta version of UB-MFE using Altavista to search for it. With all due respect to the Beta Map Editor, I prefer UB-MFE. Unfortunately the original authors site is down and it looks like it may not come back. Hopefully Strategyplanet will put the file up on something like Filefront....If nothing else they should give a heads up or at least remove the defunct link until they resolve the situation.

If I had time I would have rechecked all the download links on Ja-galaxy but unfortunately, i've been way too busy in the last few months.

And as per agreement with the Gamespy network, all files linked to Ja-Galaxy have to be hosted on FilePlanet.

This one is meant for urban Chaos.

web page

It seems to do most of what I've asked of it so far. Others here might be able to point you in a better direction.

If Ja-galaxy doesn't load on first try, hit refresh. It's the fault of Gamespy's ad pages.

I was wondering why Ja-Galaxy was coming up with a blank all white screen. Sounds like the ad pages need to be updated a bit so that things like that won't happen.

I would also say Ja-Galaxy itself needs to be looked at for dead links. So far I have found only two, namely the ones which provide links to sites other than fileplanet. The UB-MFE editor and the all in one editor (JA2 Desktop) by Jamodsquad are both down for the count.

I have tried refresh about 10 times in a row with JA Galaxy, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Oh well. Thanks for the link.
