in fact we could also add our faces to the credits screen as the original devs did
but on the other hand, who would want to see that?

don't know what az is looking for in terms of themes. Military ones as your sniper sure make sense. On the other hand, the desktop screen can also be "a moment of reflexion, away from the noises and chaos of the battle"
But feel free to contribute other stuff... it is an open contest, plus, as pointed out in the very first posting, there can be alternative themes made available fro download

@scorpion
Current propositions,with images presented here, should be in your mailbox.
@Marlboro Man,Vicky&boyfriend If interested in testing them ingame, drop me a line(can't attach anything through the forum service)
If you try to make your chosen image(s) work ingame yourself:
1)dimension is 506/428 pixels.
The image editing program you use must be able to save in .pcx format.
2)It must be converted to 256 colours!(or it won't be displayed)
High resolution images seem to suffer most during this conversion to 256 colours, so...I'd recommand keeping it simple if you want extremely high quality.
Marlboro Man's "sitting sniper" still looks fine after conversion,though.
3)use a little frame, if you try to make the image look like the liquid chrystals display of a laptop.My image editor has this option as "frame-button 3D-single bevel"
4)place the new "Desktop.pcx" image in ja2/data/laptop to make the game display it(or create a new folder,rename it to "laptop" and,after placing your creation in it, place it in the "data" folder if you have a virgin JA2 instal)
Was that clear enough?
