Hi, I own an original copy of Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games. I have tried running it with VDMSound and DOSBox, and in neither case does the sound work at all. No music, no voice. I want to play this great game again but without sound it just won't be any fun. Has anybody been able to make this game work with full sound in Windows XP?

hmm , i got an old dos comp for playing d.g. , couldnt get it working in windows , have to say it wasnt worth the trouble ... :armsfolded:

Well, if I had an old PC also, I could see why it wasn't worth the trouble Smile

But I don't have one!

AHA! I figured it out! During my experimentations, I never bothered to look at the in-game sound settings. I believe they are turned off if at any time you choose no sound card in SETSOUND. I did that once trying to get it to work at all, so ...

Hm... I actually played both JA1 and DG from XP directly. Sure the sound wasn't right, the game tended to go turbo on me but we're not talkng about any great problems here. The only "real" problem was setting thet music and getting it to work, I had to use midi. Wasn't too happy about that but the music wasn't primarily what the game was about even if the music was pretty good too.

Yes, i just played Jagged Alliance DG with working sounds. Im using windows xp and dosbox.
