Has anyone created an STI plugin for XnView? If not, what tools do you guys use to preview multiple files or directories full of STI images at once?

[edit]
A batch command-line tool to convert STIs to BMPs would work. I checked Shanga's utilities archive and JA Galaxy, as well as doing a quick forum search, but couldn't find any obvious candidates.

Thanks!

I use Stiedit for creating .sti's and also to view them. I also use Stiview to quickly scroll through .sti files. Those both should be available at JAG.

Are there any command-line tools? Using STIView is kind of tedius. There are about 650 STIs, not including possible duplicates (I didn't check), and not including possibly multiple frames within each STI.

There both tedious to use if your just browsing through. But I don't know of any easier way or any other program. There is one other program that may assist you it's called GRV, that should also be available at JAG. But it's no better than the other two. For just viewing.

Well, if I can convert them to another format then I can use the program of my choice to preview them, hence my request for a command-line converter. I actually started a request thread in the XnView forum and linked to the STI format description in the wiki. If we're lucky someone will take up the task of adding support for the format, either natively or as a plugin.

I'll also check out GRV. Thank you for bringing it to my attention!

You can use Stiedit to view then "save as" a .bmp back out. Then you can view the .bmp's. But that is very tedious to do also. Smile
