I'm a little patriot Wink

I like him - he can open lock-doors and repair guns, vests etc and he isn't expensive. Unlucky he isn't very inteligent person and his physical stats are low Sad

What do You think about this merc?

In my first games, I ever hired him, because of his low price and hingh marksmanship... and I loved his "Dammit, dammit, dammit, tis is on posible!" Very Happy

But I also like Ivan and Igor, and Steroid doesnt like them, and it is a little problematic situation, so I havent hired him in my few last games...
Well, I cant be a patriot, cause there is no czech soldier in JA2 Sad

But Poland is in neighborhood of the Czech republic, so maybe Steroid.... Very Happy

He's great value for money. But I don't usually hire him for more then one day. If you stick with him, he could become a great shot.
His physical stats really suck though. On the other hand, he shoots his rifles with one hand. What a badass.

Steroid doesn't like the Russians, and Fox doesn't like Steroid. So that's another reason not to take him.

I prefer to get someone like Barry or an IMP and train up their MRK and MEC than take Steroid and try and train up his AGI and DEX (For some reason i feel an urge to make sure any merc in my a-team has "lit up stats" on his Aim bio for anything he actually uses

Steroid is a classic example of the bullet-magnet syndrom: He usually gets shot 3 times and falls dead...

Doors are no problem for Gontarski: If he cannot lockpick a door he can simply use a crowbar in it Wink

Sorry guys Steriod is a great buy when your starting out. He repairs the gear breaks in for you and is good for hauling alot of gear. Just put the Russians on another squad....as well as Fox. I ususally keep teams apart.

The guy is a great resource...

Steroid cracks me up. When you first meet the rebels in Omerta he says, "Miguel, I am "the man". These are other people. I will make her surrender to me in many ways." I still get a good chuckle out of that one. The best though, is when you've got Steroid locked into a contract and then hire Ivan and Igor. Too, too funny Smile

His voice and dumbness beat me.But he's,besides Barry,the only cheap LP/EL guy on JA2.
That counts in his favor,along with a good Mrk.

I had him together with Igor twice.It's not impossible.Principally if you have his idol on the team: Grizzly.

Does anybody really like Steroid? He likes Grizzly but Grizzly doesnt comment any positive back to Steroid... I like that B-grade terminator and lines are hiralious, but he dont have have ANY friends, correct?

If I remember correctly, Larry whines about Steroid beacuse he is stoned all the time? Does Larry comment anything positive when he turns his eyes to red? Very Happy

Steroid doesn't get along with any of the Russian guys so while I may take him early in a game he's out late. Having Ivan lugging around a mortar is almost a requirement late game (plus Stogie, Gus, and Grizzly). At least for me. Smile

I used Steroid the first two or three times I played the game. But his dexterity and fairly low wisdom made improvents in skills and properties tedious and when you have the cash there are many better mercs. He

When I started, Buns and Steriod were on every team.
Reading all the praise for Steriod, I wanna try him again.

Dr. Danny has some comment about Steriod, substance abuse and bad-effects.

I once got Steriod to 'break down', dunno if I overdid it on HealingSyringes, AP-needles or the brothel.
His comment was something like: dammit what have you done to me ?!?

Fox and Danny don't like Steriod, alond with the Russians, but he makes a great buy. He carries a lot of weight and is a good shot and fixes everything.

Like mentioned above him and Buns almost always make my team. This go around I only have her and I miss the big guy. Him and Wolf team up well and are a great wrecking crew.

Despite being strong though Bull seems to fair better in the final bar fight in San Mona...

Well, I am from Poland as well as Popus but Gontarsky isn`t my favorite merc couse Sir-Tech company showed him as a dumb. Which I don`t really like. But I`m patriot as well so sometimes I take him as a one of my 6 magnificient.
