First off, I have a little problem with magazines. I have a 9mm SMG that my IMP merc started out with, and I collected some 9mm ammo from bad guys. However, when I place my cursor over the SMG, the magazines don't light up - meaning they're not compatible with the gun. And when I drag the magazine on top of the SMG, it just switches places. WTH ? They're both 9mm !
So I says, ok, it maybe some sort of weirdo eastern 9mm bullets. However, during battle, if I want to shoot and have no more ammo, I click the ammo cursor, and it DOES load the 9mm it refused before ! How is this possible ?
And a little inquiry: What the heck happens with guns ? When I kill an enemy, he drops a gun like 40% of the time. What happens to the rest ? They're not fighting with fists ! Or do they throw the bullets ? I understand that they can't drop armor, because it's torn apart by my bullets, but guns don't get damaged when their wielder is killed... I know that it might be because for better/harder gameplay and whatnot, but I'm playing Tons of Guns mode ! How does it then look on normal ? One out of twenty drops guns ?
Also, I get the feeling that when they shoot, they shoot with something more powerful then what they consequently drop. I have a merc with a Makarov, and it says "out of range", while the other guy happily shoots at me and even hits some of the time - and when I kill him, he drops a Makarov too !
I thought this game was going for realism

Ammo bugs have hunted early mods like JA2UC endlessly, due to the "blindfolded" hacking of the game we had to perform in those days. You gotta remember, UC was before the source code was released and everything is there is pretty much hundreds if not thousands of trial-and-error work hours. Sometimes we ended up with the error part, but we did try not to...
Just take it as it is. There is a project ongoing to release a "fixed" v1.13 Urban Chaos, you can check that out too. The original JA2UC won't be fixed, patched, etc simply because it's no point repairing a hacked game when you've got the full source code at hand.
---
The "drop reduction" factor is used in all games. Basically, if all enemies would've dropped guns you would be flooded with junk in no time. Try playing a v1.13 game with that option enabled and see for yourself. Might be fun for a hour, but it gets annoying quickly. JA2 is not a combat simulator, it's a game where you've got to balance credibility (the correct word instead of realism) and fun.
---
The Hail Mary shots the enemy performs is a JA2 "feature". Actually a lame workaround badly implemented in the chance-to-hit calculation. People are working on fixing that too, in the v.13 project forums.

SpaceVikingThere are multiple kinds of 9mm ammo (9x18mm, 9x19mm, 9x21mm, 9x39mm). Are you using the right one?
Right, my fault. I didn't notice that while the Agram 2000 states it uses 9mm ammo, the magazines in question are actually 9mmm "PM" SMG. I wonder where I picked those up...didn't notice any bad guys wielding smg's...
ShangaThe "drop reduction" factor...
Agree...I used to have plenty of junk lying around even in normal JA2 I guess it just bugged me more than ususal because the mercs start with no guns and desperately need to arm themselves. Also, it gets annoying when you know your enemy has a way better gun, and when you finally kill him, he keeps it for himself
Does regular JA2 also have the option to drop everything, or only 1.13 ?
I wonder, though, what does the 'Tons of guns' option really do, if not drop increase ?
SpaceVikingThe guns the enemies use are the ones they drop.
Thanks. Didn't really believe otherwise, I thought there was some fishy hit-chance adjustment for enemies, as Shanga said...

Headrock"Drop Everything" is not a file option - it's one of the options in the game's Options Menu. You can even toggle it on/off with SHIFT-D.
Are you sure? I don't have this option i preferences for sure. Also Shift + D does not work! (i killed a guy that was shooting at me and he left no gun, tried to reload game, pressed Shift + D again, and he also didn't leave anything!)
Maybe it doesn't work in UC or i have some older version (2.99)?
I installed it over Polish version of JA2, maybe that's the problem?
Or should i enable 'tons of guns' option for this to work?
And lastly, ja2.ini looks like this:
" [Ja2 Settings]
CD=E "
so I don't have idea how to edit it correctly.
Any ideas?
