Hey, I just started playing SOG '69, and I really had high expectations. This all comes after I waiting over 2 weeks for a new copy of UB because the copy I have wouldn't install correctly. After I installed UB, the UB patch, SOG, and the SOG patch, I was ready to play. Playing the first couple maps was rather uneventful; I used my E&E skills to avoid enemy detection. I got very excited when I was able to recruit new characters like Ruiz and Spooky, and thought it was really cool that there were side missions, like the one to retrieve the golden buda for the crooked officer.

My enthusiasm faded, however, when I ran across a couple of problems. Ammunition types did not fit the correct weapons (M60 was taking 5.56 ammo, Swedish K was taking 5.45, M1911 taking 9mm.) As a firearm enthusiast, I was crushed. The problems didn't end there, however. After I equipped my team and sent them out to kill/rape/maim, I was BOHICAed again. After trying to load a 40mm into my GL to take out an enemy position, I quickly found out it wouldn't work (should have realized when the icon of the 40mm grenade was actually RDX.) Could someone explain what is happening? Maybe there is some patch that I haven't downloaded?

Something doesn't sound right about your install. This was a pretty good mod. I'd start with a clean install, patch to v1.01, install the mod, then use the set "JA2UB campaign.exe". Its been a couple of years since I played this one, and I've seem to have lost my copy.

I experienced the same problems with SOG '69. This was after I installed the SOG '69 patch. SOG '69 worked fine before the patch. I reinstalled JA2:UB and its official patch, SOG '69, and finally the SOG '69 patch. Same problem. This was some time ago. I'll give it another shot because I really want to play the patched version of SOG '69 as it adds quite a few items. I finished the unpatched SOG '69 campaign and I really enjoyed it. It was such a good campaign that I want to play it again.

I'm a Vietnam War buff and am a huge fan of the TV show 'Tour Of Duty'. SOG '69 incorporated my favourite military conflict and (one of) my favourite video games. It was a gift from the gods.

I had the same problem with wierd items when I went to play. Did a clean install, then SOG 69, then Patch 1, then Beta patch 2, then ran the "Change Campaign" program from the menu. No problems with items after that. Still get an occassional CTD from explosions and an occassional CTD from a sound loop, but overall great. Fixed the wierd item bugs. Save often!

One other thing: start with a "New" game, create a new IMP, don't import an old merc. That'll louse things up.

What I have right now is:

Dossier1.zip password is KELLER

G11.zip password is FLYBOY (you get this one from the NVAmap in H15)

D9.zip password is RBOUT (this from the recon data Bullock gives you in D15)

I3.zip I don't have yet; a week or so I should be to that area in the game.

Hope it helps

Heh, over 2yo thread but what the hell... maybe folks 20 years from now can benefit from these instructions...

1. Install JA2UB
2. Install the JA2UB 1.01 patch
3. Install SOG'69
4. Install SOG patches (there are two at least, mine are named patch1 and patch2beta1)
5. Be sure to run the file named "Save changes to UB.bat" in JA2UB installation folder after installing the patches
6. Run the file named "Set JA2UB Campaign.exe" and change the campaign to SOG'69
7. Run the game and enjoy

I'm guessing the weapons were screwed up because that .bat file wasn't executed, for one reason or another.

It basically should go in whatever directory your game is installed in,
like for example : C:\Program Files\Interplay\JA2 UB
or in my case : C:\Program Files\JA2 Unfinished Business

and..
lol, aren't you an old timer??? shouldn't you know this stuff?

haha

just wonderin'

Jagged Alliance 2 : UB patch 1.01 just in case someone needed it

There is also a SOG patch which fixes the three maps with "nothing here" and turns H7 into jungley rather than ice mountain. It fixes some other stuff too but requires you to copy various voice & sound files through from normal JA2 (vince, slay, hamous I think).

Thank you man ^^

Edit: Just open the rar, I think you misunderstood me. I meant the site where the SOG patches are kept is down, the SOG 69 patches are what I was planning to download. Though looking at what I got, I might like the Legion 2, thanks.

But can you put up the SOG 69 patches?
