I have been at this for hours now. I do not have the disk with me but i do own the game and love it. I have all the files for the game as far as I know. Anyway I'll get to the point. I installed the game using my extracted iso mounted in Dosbox. It worked well and was actually smooth with the sound working and everything. I then did as the original game would have done which suprised me and typed "deadly" and to my amazment it actually started the intro credits and video... sounds great right so why am i wasting your time with this story... once the video and credits are done it shows the Jagged Alliance title screen and switches back to the black dos screen with a new loading blah blah then the next line says it can't read the cdrom...
I have the files mounted already as cd-rom so that should bypass the cd-check and the cd-rom file in the deadly game files has "D" which is the drive its mounted to so i am really confused and can't figure out where to go from here...
I have a really bad case of nostalgia as I am currently deplyed in Iraq and can't get the old disk because my family back home would be lost trying to dig through my endless stacks of old games and computer stuff...
I really hope someone can help me solve this problem I can't beleive the intro video played then the game didn't start... you can imagine how depressed I was when it tricked me into thinking I had succeeded...
Oh and I hope this all makes sense... I am very new at this

If you installed the game in DOSBox and then tried to run it immediately afterwards, then you shouldn't have any problems. Can you see the CD's contents from inside DOSBox, by accessing drive D? If not, you might've forgotten to activate the CD-ROM drive there. For example, if your real drive (outside DOSBox) is S:\ and you want it to be D:\ in the program, type the following command:

mount d S:\ -t cdrom

The 'real drive' would be the virtual drive where you mounted the .iso on outside DOSBox, if you're using a disc image. Deadly Games should be looking for the CD data in the DOSBox-assigned drive (D), not the drive outside the program.

hey I appreciate the help... I am still learning the computer language and probably wouldn't have understood that if I hadn't figured it out on my own. But that was exactly what i needed to do so your advice would have been correct... but i am thinking that (if it makes a difference) I may have installed the game outside of dosbox and tried to run it the correct way (the way you suggested) and that may have been why it ran the intro video and not load the game. Everything is great now. I love this game and am so glad to get to play it it reminds me of my childhood days.

Does anyone here know anything about the alleged Jagged Alliance 3?

Hohoho , 'alleged' being the proper phrase Smile , check the threads in the past and future forum for what passes as news (if you haven't already).
