first of all id like so say, DAM! i didnt know other people still played ja2. i bought this game like 2 or 3 years ago. anyway was playing it today and the strangest thing happened. one of my mercs was captured and taken as a POW. i found the location they were holding him and busted in and got him out.
but now its like my merc that i busted out is one of the enemy men. i can walk rite up to them and they do nothing to him. i can punch them in the face and they dont shoot or hit back at all. so really now the game is pointless. basically my game is ruined. any suggestions on how to get it back to normal?? because the only thing i can really do now is kill my merc. and i really dont want to do that because he is my main merc that i got from imp. any suggestions would be helpful.

First of all,welcome aboard!
It would help if you'd specify the version you have in posession.
Personally I never encountered such a problem,but others might help you.

never had that problem.
do you have a savegame prior to the problem?
i think the idea is to escape using the pow merc, instead of rescue him... but never had such a case in any of my games... sorry can't help better.

while in tactical map try rightclicking long on the merc you want to free until a menu pops up (similar to the menu for assigning jobs like train militia etc) and the assign the merc to your squad that should work. btw there is no need to shout.

this is a known bug.
anyway i never had it, so i don't know how to fix it - and i discovered solutions for many bugs yet.

i'll check out that savegame, zip/rar & send it to Luchs14@chello.atand i'll reply soon.

ok i emailed the savegame so u can have a look.
its original ja2 v 1.03
and i already assigned my merc to a squad.
im gonna get the latest version and see if that helps.
