I have to apologize if this is an idiotic question or it was posted in the wrong (sub)forum.

I do prefer headshots even with ham.

>80% of my kills are usually headshots.
I take whole sectors only with headshots and I'm realy wondering why the bodyarmour, and the guns of those killed are down to %% of 40 and lower.

No explosives used only one or two of 28 enemies were able to return fire.

In my opinion their equipment should be in a far better constitution.

So I ask memeself that question.

Is the damage of enemies' equipment made randomly or do they leave barracks with that trash
(=are they generated with trash equipment)

I'd say it's just the progress of the game versus armour/gun status. Look at it this way, i've often punched a guy unconscious & stolen armour at 40/50% early on in the game.

I always saw it as a game balancing feature. It also makes since the first troops you encounter might have mediocre quality equipment, it is a dictatorship after all.

I just looked in the code and, yes, only the armor that gets hit is degraded. Explosions are handled differently and damage everything.

The quality of the enemy equipment to start with is random and it looks like it all starts at 70-100%.

What SpaceViking said, the enemy gear is just really crappy, especially in the beginning. I have another post going about weapon jamming, where I asked if enemies can have jams - ever.

Edit: I got feedback that weapon jams are *not* tested for enemies.

i have never see army have jams. i think it is unfair ...
another thing is that i' m try to make traps with a good state guns over a landmine and it nerver work:
a) when i see their guns i think they would not resist
b) They all have a good explosive skill ?
c) Or it is always their explosives expert who arrive first on the area and quickly put a blue flag ?

i continue on unfair; they flee a sector (army) are hardly hit and arrive "fresh" on the
adjacent/militia/mercenary sector. try to do this, u will arrive in a bag.

They never sleep?

I thought j/\2 was a game that "run" equal for the two parts, it was one of the principal reason that i like it ( and is dynamic too ). not like master of orion, were you skip higher level the ai take bigger bonus ( old old game omg...).
but i must admit that wiht the introduction of 1.13 there is a cetain "balance" that make compensasion (very subjective ).

I think the AI should be able to use Save/Reload. That would make things a LOT more fair.

Haha, now that would be funny, as I have certainly abused that option..
