Being a gaming noob I am wondering about a few things with respect to customizing RR. Basically since it's built on the 1.13 platform I am wondering if you can change the resolution and the other global settings? Also, RR comes with a warning: "Ja2options.ini:
Options file for ja2 RR, in order to avoid crashes, savegame corruption and broken quests, it is suggested not to alter any settings of this file that affect the game other than cosmeticly (primary example is the explosive_damage modifier. It is important not to change this value. Grenade damages can be tweaked through explosives.xml without breaking quests or causing other major problems)"

So, does this mean that all the stuff you can change in the word pad JA options stuff is out of bounds? Any input is welcome.

You can change resolutions at least , cannot remember much about the rest ,( haven't played in a while ) just try and see what happens ( set up a 'copy' RR just in case )

I can't seem to figure out to change the resolution since it seems that the global setting options are only available with 1.13 rather then within RR. If someone knows what to about bout that i'd like to hear.

you have two inis - one in your root-folder (there's the resolution) and one in data-'whatsoever' (there's the mod-specific stuff

That is correct. However, the global setting stuff in the root folder can only effect settings in 1.13 rather then other mods. Well, if some way exists to get around that I don't know what it would be.

My copy doesn't have smp2items.sti in the Renegade folder either, and plays fine. There is one in the Datat-1.13 folder however, try using that one.

Uhm.....I tried it. Copied it from 1.13 Folder into that Renegade. Ok, XML editor now run. But I cannot open anything of stuff in LBE gears inside XML editor. And in the game are some pretty mistakes. Actually all LBE gears stuff i have to throw away, because it doesnt work in the game. That LBE gears doesnt work although in options on the begining of the game I choose a new inventory. Just it doesnt work right in the game. So what to do with this?? Because I wanna to play it with new inventory. Because it is better with tactic vests, backpacks and combat packs.
So, thats the problem. Ok, I probably finish this game on the old inventory. Devil takes it, but let the fun. I ll kick them ass.

While i can not help you with costumizing RR, i can say for sure that the LBE items work.
I play RR with NIV and i have no problems with it.

Though i play with the RR_ja2_2124.exe, which i found to be the most stable one.
Maybe the exe you use does not fully support NIV?

A word of advice though, in my game LBE items dont drop when playing with normal loot, and is not sold by BR.
The modder probably forgot to include them in the tables, so i was forced to play a couple of battles with dropp all enabled to get LBE.
RR is full of little mistakes, which dont hurt the game much.

regards
