Yesterday I followed the UC install instructions including installing JA2 fresh and using QuickFix 2 (which was on FilePlanet). In any case, I got the game up and running without a crash. So far so good. I started a new game and started playing around, trying to make sure everything was actually working. Eventually I saved and tried to load it. It stopped about a third of the way through and gave me an error that said it had failed to load. Then I was kicked back to the main menu. I tried loading the game again and again under various conditions but nothing worked. Worse, about half of the time the game stopped responding. Has anyone else had this problem? What do I do?

For anyone who has this problem this is how I fixed it. In Vista, right click on the ja2.exe, ja2_UC.exe, or whatever .exe you are using for your particular mod loadout and select "Run as Administrator". You have to do this even if your profile is the administrator profile. Doing just that completely solved my problems. Good luck.
