So in some scenarios i am able to knock out the enemy soldier with my IMP character , 89 strength, with either dusters or a crowbar to the head, at other times, when there is not enough AP, i usually run up to the enemy and hold on to the control button to snatch his guns, sometimes i get his gun, at others i got it but the merc drops it accidently on the ground, either way forcing him( if im lucky) to punch me(if not) grab his second gun and shoot me. Sometimes he fails to do so and in the end gets blasted to death by a burst fire from the enemy, forcing me to restart the sector as the IMP is too precious to lose. What are the percentages of grabbing and enemy's rifle and what factors affect it?

Like in real life: somethimes you are succesfull somethimes not. I think you should take this as a preety chance to still. But you know that stealing is a crime:)

I usually do this with two mercs, one is for backup

I looked around for an answer, I could not find the formula which is what I would like to know as well.

I did find a short guide which you prolly already know about.

use tear gas or stun grenades - they give you a good chance of not being punched back

Mostly i wear them down with someone with higher strength, but currently, you would see from my other post that i am playing with an only-female squad, chances are lesser guns will be stolen.

use a man only for stealing and maybe for carrying items. Women are still in charge.

By the way who is your lockpicker?

nope, men not allowed in the battle, thats my rule of playing female-only, besides, using my female IMP to knock out big burly red shirts/ anyone else is proving to me the my IMP girl is making them look like weaklings. Haha

alright 1.13's awesome, but the militia is always getting better guns than mine, is it possible to steal them instead of killing the whole militia force?

There is a pretty much sure-fire way to always succeed at stealing. First you have to pummel or otherwise stun your target until he falls down. Then to steal you must take a step or two when you steal in the same action. Thus: knock them out with the crowbar, take a step away, and then use the steal maneuver so that your merc runs up and steals on the next round. It works almost every time. I used to do this all the time prior to 1.13 since it was the best way to get great guns early in the game. Using energy booster and multiple mercs helps a lot as well.
