Buff = Fit & Toned (can also mean Naked).

Buff can also mean scientist or enthusiast e.g. a model train buff.

Finally "The Buffs" were a rifle regiment from Kent in South East England.

I thought the regiment was named "the Biffs" (for their performance in battle)
