So I downloaded JAUB from a torrent that was created for mac a little while ago and I am already close to the end of the game and I am hooked. My problem now is I do not know where to go from here. I would like to run some of these user mods but I don't believe they will work on my translated mac version of the game. So my question to all of you who I am betting are much more computer literate then I am is.......what next?

Does v1.13 actually include the whole game so that I could run it through bootcamp possible or is it just a mod?
Is there a version of JA2 that I may be able to run on my mac?
Or does anyone have any idea how I would run a mod on the mac translated version I have?

I realize there are not that many mac users on this forum but if anyone has any help so that I can prolong my addiction any longer or check out any of the mods I have been reading about please help.
And thanks!!!!!!!

1 Sorry , but we don't like the use of torrents .
2 V1.13 must be overlaid onto a 'gold' 1.10 or 1.07 version of JA
3 Don't think so I'm afraid
4 No idea . Perhaps some of the more techy guys could help .
5 Other than buy an oldish pc (doesn't need much to run JA)and then the game ( cheap versions abound)and then step into the wonderful world of ours...... :whoknows:
Not much help , sorry .

as lockie says: get a legal ja2

if will run on your mac - you should check which probs show up with differend windows versions (stuff like run as admin under vista)

xp prof runs with bootcamp and does not make much trouble

Cool thanks a lot guys that was a big help I guess I will have to start shopping! Gold is the version to get though if you want to get the most out of the mod community eh? For the record I also don't really support the use of torrents I kind of just went for it under the impression that I could use no legal copy on my system so thanks for the info!

Hi all,
JA 1.13 works well under boot camp, but a Mac under boot camp is a PC. I am currently working on a ciderized version of JA2, without much success for now. But it is not really legal either...

It may also work with other virtualization technologies like VM Ware or Crossover, but you will have to try by yourself if you own one of these programs. (JA2 does not work with Microsoft virtual PC under Seven Pro, but VPC is crappy compared to those two)

@lockie: Getting old PC games work on a Mac is pretty hard or rely on abnormally expensive softs (and some of them are based on open source projects). Torrents are not good way of getting fan ported games, but the only one for an average user. I do not see any problem as long as you also buy the game. (JA2 is really easy to find and inexpensive thanks to gog.com)

it did work back in those times when it was CONNECTIX virtual pc, but then mf bought it (=fucked it up)

... and said mac is not a pc - bootcamp makes stupid mf windows believe it is :diabolical:
