Simple question:
Is it possible to assign intentionally enemies to map with camouflage?

I get two enemies with camouflage in random order and with random camo type if I place 32 enemies.

don't know about 1.13, but in normal ja2, if you give camouflage to a soldier in the map editor, he'll be camouflaged in the game. Of course he needs to show up (priority placements)

Thanks again scorpion. I tried it to give it to both hands, inventory and armour slot, but no fun.

Also my attempt was to give an armour with 100% camo bonus. Failure lead me to discover, that camo bonuses do not work anymore for vests. Maybe it's because vests are wore underneath LBE.
Then I gave that soldier LBE with 100% camo bonus - but still this did not work also, though after I took LBE from dead body, camo was applied to my merc.

So I am confused. :dontknow2:

i understand. i kinda feared it would be broken for 1.13, as the camo system was changed. But camo clothing only working for mercs but not for the soldiers that wear them is kinda weird, too.

While we are at it, is it possible to change initial Map Editor sector?

i don't know. i always use f5 to get to the strategic view and load maps from there. But i think some of kriplo's new editors go to this view autmatically (or, rather, they stay there instead of loading a9)

Good news (everyone)! Or rather, not so.

Seems that evidence point to Kriplo's editor, which I was using. If I give, as you said, camo kit to soldiers inventory while using Kriplo's editor, nothing happens afterwards. Though if I do that with default map editor, provided with 1.13, soldiers are wearing camo.
More - if I do above mentioned changes with Kriplo's editor, and then open that map with default editor and do nothing, but save it - enemies wear camouflage in-game.

So I think I'll do necessary changes with Kriplo's editor, which is much finer than previous ones, and then re-save map with default one.

Ok, after extensive testing I should say that I am still confused Smile

For sure, you won't get camo with Kriplo's editor, but not necesseraly you will if you use old editor! Seems completely random, sometimes enemies wear it, sometimes not.

I'll refer to Kriplo.

Enemies, like NPCs and unhired RPCs, do not use NIV, and therefore cannot use LBE-items properly. Thus the camo bonus of LBE-items cannot work for them. LBE-items given to people not under player control are purely for the purpose of having them drop for the player's benefit.

sadly, this fits the picture of editor placements being overridden by 1.13's choices files. There's many such issues and this makes certain design choices impossible. For example, for grenade testing in MP we wanted a map full of enemies that don't have rifles but grenades only. This was possible in ja2 and UB, but not in 1.13 anymore, or at least it has become much more difficult to achieve.
