The difference between the latest code in SVN (r7059) and the source code zip download on tron's site (http://tron.homeunix.org/ja2/ja2-0.12.1-source.tar.bz2) is massive.

Why is the SVN repo so outdated? Was it moved?

Well, obviously Tron's version numbers are tags for SVN revisions. So they are indeed different numbers.

However, my question is about the code in SVN. If I do a checkout of the latest revision, it's way different from the source-code-download of 0.12.1 on Tron's site.

Obviously, he has worked on the code and made lots of changes, which were never committed to the SVN repository.

As such, r7059 is old and outdated - and I wonder where the code was managed/repo'd from there.

thron is not supossed to put his code into svn - if at all his code gets stolen/borrowed by the smp-team

he simply follows a different goal

As far as I know, release 0.12 and its bugfix 0.12.1 are from summer 2009 and subversion is current.

Tron, the only member of the stracciatella team, hasn't committed anything to the subversion repository since november 2009 and hasn't posted anything on the forum for months. Obviously, he doesn't read the forum or he would have fixed at least the bug on the loss of the coordinates of the loaded sector (this one).

Edit:
Quoted from Tron's homepage: 0.12.1 is svn revision 6011!
Quote:
v0.12.1 - 2009-06-15
(r6011) Fix a bug in r5121 which prevented hiring mercs from AIM.
(r6005) Fix a vanilla buffer overflow when loading/saving savegames.

Massive amount of changes is because there's just that, massive amount of changes to his latest "official" release.

I've been thru it, made my head hurt. Smile

I don't know how you arrived at this conclusion. Release 0.12.1 is based on 0.12 and only adds two bug fixes, which were merged from trunk. 0.12 is based on r5973 of trunk. So clearly r7059 of trunk is newer than 0.12.1.

It was stupid. I was confused by SVN being so much ahead of the "official" releases. I understood later, as you can see from newer posts.
