This is not for the BEST IMP character, necessarily, but the one that you like to play most.
My favorite is one of my more Unusual creations; in just a couple of levels he is really
a pretty good MERC!

Name: Mechanic
Training: Lock Pick(exp)

Hth: 70
AGI: 75
DEX: 60
STR: 70
LDR: 50
WIS: 85
MRK: 50
EXP: 35
MEC: 60
MED: 35

His High IQ means that he learns very fast; His marksmanship starts abysmally low, but quickly climbs to acceptable
levels. He can repair right away, or if needed, his leadership allows him to quickly train up a sector of militia.
In a pinch, he can even double as a Medic. By the time he hits Meduna, those four locked chests at the airport
almost spring open for him.

:super: how comes your 'not for the BEST IMP character' uses 40 points more than intended? 640 <-> 600?

 how much do you 'cheat' for 'BEST IMP character'?

At the beginning of a game a good mechanic is essential because of the lack of toolkits.

I did some experimenting a few weeks ago.

I created a aim merc with health 1 (one). His unconcious body was dropped of by the helicopter in Omerta and he died during the first five seconds of the game, without even being hit once. Tragic, really.

Heh. So if your health is less than a certain amount it must assume you are unconscious and dying.

IMPs with health <20 are delivered dead or dying.

Health between 20 and 25 has a little chance to get a living one.

A strength 1 guy might be fun. It would go up REALLY fast if you gave him *any* equipment.

ain't fun it,s a cheat

strength 1 merc will rocket up the very moment You cancel his movement orders.

Especially when: strength=1, health=25, weight=2000

chancel movement inside omerta -> str>90, Health>90, level 9 or 10

I had that happen to Shank once. I loaded him with every nested backpack containing the heaviest of everything I could find at Tixa and he went up several levels and many, many strength on his way from there to Cambria. Of course he could only move one sector a day...
