I wonder if anyone knows the answer to this.

In my defense of Drassen from the massive Drassen Counterattack, I created a vast minefield which was very successful. Unfortunately, the friendly mine director decided to take a stroll outside of his office immediately after the battle and had his legs blown off. Before I could reach him he was dead.

Anyway, now I have no mine director in Drassen. It didn't occur to me what effects this might have. I already controlled the mine output at that time. Now I am wondering, if I temporarily lose control of that sector, if I will be able to regain mine income. I can't remember, if you have to speak with the mine director each time you regain control of a mine sector to resume receiving income or whether mere control of the sector provides income.

I can't reload prior to the man's death. Will I ever be able to regain mine income if I lose control of the sector - now that the mine director is dead?

Yeah..

Fred's dead!

If I lose control of the sector and reoccupy it, will I automatically regain mine income? Do you have to speak with the mine director a second time to regain mine income?

normally you should loose income the moment he dies (in vanilla and with bug-attacks saving the miner was of paramount importance). the only one who's disposable is calvin - normally i allow razor to carve him up :pitchfork:

I'm playing Stomp/Ham/AIM WF version.

I'm still receiving income from the mine. I just can't remember if when a mine sector is retaken, you must speak to the mine director each time .

Income is only lost if you actively kill the miner yourself. Sounds like he died in a tragic "accident" to me, yes you are indirectly responsible because of the (passive) landmine but it's not the same as gunning him down in cold blood is it? They are however less forgiving or tolerant of (active) gas provided they ID you as the person/team who threw it.

no, if the bugs or the amy kill him there was no money too (at least in vanilla)

I see. Death by active team; be that yours, queens or crepitus. Makes sense.

shooting is bad, draws attention etc. knifing, again, as said before, or even a crowbar in some silent corner... so, if there is a possibility of crepitus attack, random gassing or anything else threatening your income - maybe it's better to off the head miner silently right after he has told his men you are the boss now and before anybody/anything else does :diabolical:

I lost 3 mercs in a battle i fought from miners cottage's roof gainst crepitus one night.

Reason: some silly militia open the door to led Fred out. I had to close that door again.
Every time the door was shut again (from outside cause I hadn't enough ap to go in the hut crepitus killed my merc.

Bubba, Haywire, Razor all r.i.p
