I edit my savegames since JA1 to make teams which would be impossible by design possible, like have Ivan and Reuban, the Roachburn family or Fox and Pops in JA1, Fox and Mouse in Deadly Games and Fox and Buns in JA2.

It's simply replacing someone's hated mercs ids by a neutral value. Maybe your interface could do it ?

I think your interface misses the "will learn to like" and "will learn to hate" fields, which are very close to buddies and hated mercs in the memories I have of the savegame structure, not "prof.dat". For example, Fox will learn to like Grizzly, Wolf will learn to hate Numb and Ira will learn to hate Malice. If I want a team with Ira and Malice, I have to clear the "will hate" field from Ira.

Eeerr... guess you forgot the big fat "NOOOOOT!!!" after that sentence - imagine it just like Borat would say it and you get the effect I'm aiming at Wink

Unless, of course, you define being utterly humiliated in front of the whole sports world as a "common goal"...
But you still have a point there, since Domenech's Leadership-Skill would probably rank at about 0-2 points JA-wise.

On a more on-topic note: I have to agree with Logisteric, merc relations and personalities are a central element of the fun. In fact, they are the sole reason not to play with an all-IMP-squad in the first place. Ira being disgusted by Malice, for instance, is just priceless Very Happy

yeah, nice idea - behaving like the equipe tricolore means you are wiped out in the first round (= landing zone) :devilaugh: unfortunately in ja2 there is no chance to have some of them send home in disgrace

well, i know nothing about straciatella - relationships can be easily changed in proedit (in normal ja2) - for the spechfiles you can at least change the edts (subtitels) quite easily - for the wavs you need a cutting program like adobe audition or somesuch but the only cases where names are mentioned are buddies/haties. you could however try to have that kind of files without names (numb calls vicky a whore - you could use this 'whore' for any other female)

that meant of course you have to have new buddies/haties from what is doable not what you liked to have

The speech files are exactly the reason I turned the editing of relationships off. It's relatively easy to enable the editing. If there's people who desire so, I will try fix it somewhere coming days. Just let me know.
