Well 1st off all i just noticed this forum. im a very addicted dutch JA Fan/Gamer.
well now
my oppinion: FN-Fall for life.
reason : great range (42)
Damage (32)
and offcourse the low AP needed points 2 fire a shot...
btw i played ja2 mayB 10 times over and over till the end but! i never seem 2 find that fnp90,but just 2 look @ those settings i dont think its better than my precious FN-Fall.
anyway did you dudes did the r&s + barrel extender on the H&K21? the settings of that gun are D(32) R(50) only you need 7 minimum 2 shoot a single bullet wich is better with the FN-Fall(5)
another thing can you steal the jelly from the bug queen when she's still alive??[/offtopic]

If you have played JA2 through at least ten times, then why not try Urban Chaos?? The new mod for JA2.
You probably need to update your dutch JA2 to the english v1.06 before installing UC (I did, encountered no problems in UC so far). Patches available from JA-galaxy, very easy to do.
Best gun: dunno, I think that's different for everyone, because there are many ways in which you can play the game. During NO, I like the automatic guns (5-6 bullet bursts), range isn't that important then. Just playing daytime ops for the first time now (UC). haven't seen all the guns yet, so can't say which I enjoy best.. (Hey, but that's another post (or three other posts.?.?))

Give me that Steyr AUG I love the 50 range. I'll try to equip both weapons with the same attachments and check for results............Get back to you when I do. :rifle:

I am using my mod with re-calculated ranges, APs and damage and with some new weapons... Changed the RPK-74 to RPK-47 and aded 75rd ammo drum - now with this magasine it is really good SAW:) And 200rd belt for Minimi...
Now I'd say... Best pistol: Five-seveN
Best SMG: Uzi, MP5A3 if U look for silenced ones (Oh, and I have almost forgotten the P90), Commando for rock'n'roll.
Best rifle: I have replaced the SKS with Ruger Mini Thirty. It is better than the other Ruger, but not too much. And if you want silenced, then use DeLisle .45 carbine.
Best Assault Rifle: Steyr, FAL, or C-7
Best Sniper rifle: Barett, Galil Sniper, M24, Dragunov - everyone has its own pros and cons, hard to pick up one... Also the RPK-47 and L86 LSW, when used in single-shot mode, are quite accurate. And when in need U can spray...
Best LMG: HK21 for its devastating effect, Minimi for less AP required and smaller weight. I have replaced the CAWS with Czech UK59L LMG, using the same ammo as Dragunov, that means 7.62x54R.
So... It is hard to tell which one is the best, I'd say most weapons can be good in some situations and not so good in other. So almost each o my mersc uses different weapons and they make a deadly team together.

oke i know i m new here and this is my first post but anybody can see the c-7 is the best assault rifle in the game because of its big burst fire (5) and his big clip (30) wich is higher than the (20) of the fn-fal the only weapon better then the c-7 is the fa-mass if you have a barrel extender because its hase the same burst and clip but firering coust on ap point les and the best light machine gun is the rpk-74 because it's the lightest of the 3 and it has a bigger clip than the H&k wich has a clip of 20 which is to smal for a gun that wil be constantly on burst mode (you schould use a auto merch)

i always used steyrs but in ja2 gold, the modified dragunuv( 8 ap to fire and dmg 36) is fun to play with, though I still have razor with the c7 and dragunuv, wolf with his c7 and dragunuv, Streir(IMP) with FN-FAL and dragunuv and Haywire with his M33(i think?).
People are right, haywire and razor are fun to play with, though I always do solo missions, right now im training haywire in between enemy troops retaking tixa, then he is soloing and taking tixa back, training more, retaking tixi...
works quite well.
