Hi all,

I recently picked up the latest v1.13 game. Being somewhat obsessed with finding the ultimate weapon, I made a big overview table that lists all of them. You can find it on my own website weapons table here. Use as you see fit.

Uh, really cool, I like it a lot!!

How do you create the tables, automatically or by hand? Would it be possible to add weapon attachment bonus list? Or maybe you can just display everything when clicking on an item?

easy way to make lists: make multi selection in xml editor possible(some coding needet) and ctrl+c

copy list to exel or open office

2nd way make an little tool that extract the data from items.xml (never again worry about item lists)
coding needet also

need more hours per day (practical work at my new job atm)

3rd way: Use one of the myriad of available XML parsers, export to .xls, SQL, ... no coding needed.

The new MS Office can open Items.xml, not sure what the year is, like 2008 or 2010 or something like that, the newest version, I do it at work all the time. If you have an older version, the spreadsheet looks unusable.

Great work. ITs very useful. However, it lacks in three ways:

1) It doenst offer ammunition AP and DMG ratios, at least for most common "red" bullets. They make a serious difference when one weapon has 1.333 armor penetration and other 2.0 available (like HK G3A3 vs FN P-90)

2) You have mistakes in your ap costs, or the items were updated since you did that. For example i am very sure that HK G11 is much better than 30ap to fire single! Its around 23 or something. 30 is a number more fitting a sniper rifle like M21 EBR or Knight SR-25...

3) You dont take into account the avaiable stock attach that changes the AP to draw significantly. Or did i miss it?

Therefore, i have a question:
Is it simple to modify that file of yours to get the AP's from the weapon xml file? Its there, open an xml editor, and you will see how it gets the values (they are stored in not that trivial manner though - ap for single shot is stored in "how many shots per 4 turns" if i'm not mistaken). Then it would be more accurate than doing it by hand.
Could you possibly do it or explain how to do it? I've kinda worked with xml but still i am not that good with it to catch this on the fly

Hi Istrebitel,

In reply to your remarks:
1) Indeed I haven't taken ammunition into account. I didn't go into looking up possible ammo types and their damage potential.
2) It could be that I made a mistake here and there. I'll load a savegame and double-check the G11 again.
3) Indeed I don't count stock attachments in AP cost, I just list the basic (= no attachments) stats. Attachments can radically change the effective values. Hmm .. maybe I should double some columns, one each for basic stats and one for stats with the best possible attachments. The latter can be difficult though, because some attachments prohibit the use of others.

About your question: I searched my bones off for AP stats in the weapons.xml file and other files, but could not find them / find out how to calculate them. The cost to ready a gun is easy (listed as "ubReadyTime") but the others are quite obscure. That's why I resorted to manually put them in a file of my own. If you know which stats to use and how, or know somebody who does, I'll have the xslt updated in no time and then the weapons_rl.xml can be discarded completely.

Xml by the way is easy to edit, any text editor will do. Xml is quite readable both for humans and computers. If you want to change only the stats, look up the weapon in the weapons_rl.xml file by its identifier (listed in the leftmost column of the html file) and change the "attack" (single shot), "burst" or "auto" value. If you've never worked with xml, the hardest part will be to install a parser and run it on the xml files and the xslt file.

I used Xalan to process the xslt. It's open source. You need a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to run it. That can be obtained from IBM or Sun (nowadays Oracle). Here is a list of some well-known XSLT processors: XSLT processors.

Hi hecho, I have an AP calculation formula on my Wiki, link is in my sig. The formula needs to be adjusted for 100 AP, it uses the old 25 APs.

My weapon table has been updated for the 4870 build. The developers have lowered the AP costs for many auto-firing weapons and changed the stats for a handful of weapons significantly. You can find the updated table at the same location: here.
