OK I have played through two games now and have yet to find that hummer. I have looked in every sector east, NE, and SE of Balime like the walkthrough said and it is not there. Is there something I have to do before it shows up? Is there something I have to accomplish first?

Also, I finally ran across the icecream truck and they guy would offer his truck. I tried to recruit him and he said something like "I wouldn't work for the likes of you".Any thoughts? That Heli is getting expensive.

Any merc with a decent leadership score should be able to recruit Hamous.
The Hummer is NW of Balime.

Hamous, the guy in the truck, might have disliked someone on your team, that's the only explantion I can think of.
I don't know why you can't find the hummer, check the two sections directly east of Balime again.
The helicopter is expensive, but I use it more then any other form of transportation, especially once you get enough money to not care.

2 squares WEST of Balime, on the road. There is a gas station there and a NPC named Dave who will sell you the Hummer. He is also supposed to give you free gas from time to time, but I've never gotten any....

I've never known it to be anywhere other than Northwest of Balime.

The free gas I've only ever gotten after returning to the grid where he sells you the Hummer (for a nice bit of money).
However, this bit seems to be somewhat glitchy in that I've sometimes got another Hummer that causes the game to crash after a while.

The locations for Jagged Alliance 2 (main game) will also apply to most mods.

The Hummer is located in L10, as mentioned by Omega. There is only one location. You need to talk to the NPC Dave in the sector and he will offer to sell the Hummer to you.

Hamous can be found on the road somewhere (he moves around) so you can find him in D3, D7, C9, D9, E12, F12, or G6. He should be somewhere, but only one place at a time.

In the Urban Chaos mod, Hamous is replaced by Postie, a disgruntled postal worker with a stolen postal van. I think he can be found in the same various locations as Hamous.

The Hummer is unchanged (same NPC sells it to you for the same $10,000), but the location was changed to B1 (I think).

I find the vehicles annoying as they tend to run out of gas in inconvenient locations. Also, you can only follow the roads with them.

I don't even bother to buy vehicles in Urban Chaos. Once you get the subways cleaned out you can get to most places faster that way.

I have had no trouble recruiting Hamous before. I am not aware of him disliking anyone - so it is probably the leadership score of the merc who talked to him. You sometimes need a minimum leadership score to recruit an NPC.

I always but that hummer in JA2, like Bane said, i never get any "FOC" gas from that guy dave.... but i do love to drive tank!! i dunno how i get that deidranna tanks, but i do love to drive it around. Of course, it cannot be fired like the enemies soldier did when in combat situation.... ^^

I got that tank too,only once,years ago.

I swear it scared me,when I first saw it,after training militias.My first reaction was:"what the hell?!?Not again!"
I've never been able to reproduce that moment,I don't have a save...

Yes, it is version 1.03... the location you mention also right. I got it few times though, but it is random i think. Cause sometimes when i expect i get it, it doesn't show up... And when i don't, the tank appear right afterward. I love it~~~ too bad the tank cannot fire...^^
