Yes, sounds fairly simple, thats what i thought the first time but i've looked in every menus in the map editor and couldnt find anything related to the hummer ... maybe im missing something obvious or idk what ... i just cant find it, thats why im asking here. Maybe someone can point me into the right direction.

Reason i need another hummer is because im making my own maps and stuff and for it i need more than 1 ...

the hummer is a 'person' - if you put a second hummer into a map that needs an own id and an own name (humvee maybe) and use the same bodytype

I used Merc profile editor and selected an id that wasn't used by anything and assigned it to the humvee ... unless thats not the way to do it

EDIT : What i did exactly was, select the hummer "person", copied the profile, pasted it on the new id, renamed its name and assigned it to another sector and then went into the map editor and placed the humvee in the sector i selected in the editor but it didnt work ...

you need to open the map-editor and place the hummer somewhere (better not in a tree)

Ah yes, ofc ... I went for example in B12, placed the humvee on the road, saved the map and went ingame, started a new game, went to that sector and nothing ...

I noticed a lot of questions about a third hummer
I don't really need a third ,what I would really like is for Hummer to go off road.
Maybe not the heavy forest maps but at least most desert maps ,I mean its an off road vehicle right, so...
Is this possible to make it so ?

Sorry to revive an old thread but it seems like the best place to ask.

I tried adding a second hummer, it shows in my game and works fine except that it's name is "None" (instead of "Humvee"). I can't figure out why/how to fix this.

Here's what I did :
- In MercProfiles.xml: I copied the original hummer's profile (#160) to an empty profile (#201).
- I copied everything from profile #160, except this line (of course): 201
- I changed and to 9 and 1 respectively, because in the editor I put the new hummer in sector A9.
- I tried changing and to things other than "Hummer", such as "Hummer 2", "Humvee", etc. It did not fix the problem.

- In the Editor: I placed a new civilian in A9, and I gave him the ID 201. It's appearance and stats changed to the Hummer's.
- The name of the new Hummer displays properly when I place the hummer. However, if I quit the editor and launch it again, the Hummer's name now appears as "None". The new hummer's ID is still shown as 201. The hummer's appearance is also the regular hummer skin and all the other stats seemed to be saved (it does not revert back to a civilian skin).

- Finally, as I said above, in the JA2 game, the new hummer's name is "None". The new hummer works fine otherwise, I can get inside, open the inventory, drive around... And yes, I started a fresh game.

So basically, everything is working except the name, which does not seem to be saved by the editor.

What did I forget or what am I doing wrong?

I'm using SCI unstable revision 7141 in case this is relevant. I also use Arulco Revisited, in case this might be the problem.

Edit: In case it helps, in the editor I tried giving my new hummer the ID 160 (same as the original Hummer). This time the name of Hummer is saved and displays when I launch the editor. But I don't think I can have 2 Hummers with the same ID in the game, so this is probably not a good fix.

I think you need to change the name in vehicles.xml as well.
