I'm playing Jagged Alliance 2 Gold, and I'm using Windows 7. I have played this game with Vista years ago on the same computer and never experienced this problem. I also have this problem with the original TalonSoft version when playing on Windows 7.

The game appears to run perfectly, and the screen scrolling in the main game map is smooth and fast like it should be.

However, whenever my characters encounter an enemy and the game switches to the combat mode, the scrolling slows down and becomes choppy while the speech is being played.

The reason why I think it has to do with my sound is because

1) If I turn off speech then no more problem

2) If I leave a youtube video running on my browser (Chrome) then I don't encounter this problem anymore... (this is what really baffles me)

My computer has a Realtek sound card

I did not install the game into program files.

I run as administrator and have tried different compatibilities

I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times

I've tried dozens of things, but I still get this problem.

Has anyone experienced anything similar to this before, with this game or another game?

I just checked and 'merc lights during movement' is already turned off.

If you haven't already try using the MSS32.DLL from the UB 1.01 patch.
