Hoi Chummers,

Question, can sight/view range (which set to a default of something like 26 tiles) be modified so that you can see a target but not know who the target is unless they are A) close enough or B) use range enhancer (read: binoculars and scopes) to confirm if the target is friendly, neutral or enemy?

Specifically, what I envision in the player and AI see 'further' in the distance but not know what they are seeing and this would be reflected with the person in distance being all black, like it is now when two mercs are in a sector and one can see a target but the other can't. When you click on the merc who can't see the target the target is shadowed black.

Ideally if this is the case then possibly the AI can send a patrol to verify just who is in the distance and not stand around while their buddies are being snipered.

DepressiveBrot; Thanks for the answer.

Let's take this thought forward: if you expand the sight (past 26 or whatever the default is) can it be changed so that you can't get an 'Interrupt' unless they are closer, say 1/2 of whatever the default sight is? It would mean that snipers would not get a snap/reaction shot but do/should snipers be able to jerk fire? Or is my logic here wrong?
