Dear all

I would like to play JA2UC using 1.13 mod, but the process is way too complicated & unclear. Here is what i posted in the general discussions thread:

I seem to be confused by the steps. It could be b'cos i'm thick blush I would like to play Jagged Alliance 2 Urban Chaos in 1.13, but the error that i'm getting after completing all the steps is this :

Runtime Error
Press to Exit
Number of tilesets in code does not match data file

I think i got LOST somewhere along the installation process. Let me explain what i did. Perhaps you can help me troubleshoot.

Part 0 - Installed a fresh copy of JA2 into F:\JA2 ( avoided C:\ )

Part 1a - downloaded a copy of original UC from Kermi's ( file name : JA2UC 192 MB )

Part 1b - Ran into problems here! Rename which file as DATA-UC ? There is no URBAN CHAOS DATA in the 1st place.

Part 2 - downloaded a copy of 1.13 4870 & ran it. ( file name : JA2_113_FullReleaseEng 4870 132 MB )

Part 3 - Data
Data-1.13
can't complete Data-UC as i'm lost here! do you mean 'copy' or 'install' ?
From my understanding, it is really simple as i only have 2 files downloaded excluding the fresh installation
of JA2. I see a lot of 'DATA' folders after extracting everything. Could i have over-written certain files by
mistake?

Part 4 - After extracting/double-clicking Urban Chaos-1.13 v3.65.1 20120421, there are Data-Graphics & Data-UC113
Do i drag these 2 files into F:\JA2 ? Or extract/install straight away into F:\JA2 ?

Data ( i do see this folder BUT i'm not sure whether its the vanilla JA2 or UC or 1.13 confused )
Data-1.13 ( should b correct ! )
Data-Graphics ( should b correct ! )
Data-UC ( i don't have this & have no idea how to get this. )
Data-UC113 ( should b correct ! )

Part 5 - which INI.editor is this even referring to? is it under JA2 or one of the sub-folders?

http://www.mediafire.com/tais113stuff#usll77n79e4jm check here for Tais' SCI for Urban Chaos. It should contain "data-ub" folder. Also it's a fully working copy so it should give you some clues about file structure.

Rename the "Data" folder in your UC install "Data - UC".
Copy it into your main JA2 folder.

Worked for me.

Just download Taias SCI from three post up (not sure if that is last version) or here http://kermi.pp.fi/JA_2/v1.13_Releases/Unofficial/English/tais/Old/UC1.13/
and copy it over fresh plain JA2 (version doesnt matter).

Older version of Taias SCI is here http://kermi.pp.fi/JA_2/Mods_v1.13/Urban_Chaos-1.13/SCI_Tais/

Or download hybrid version http://kermi.pp.fi/JA_UB/UB-1.13/v1.4/. check txt file for install and run instructions.

I am not sure what is the difference between Hybrid and ordinary 1.13 Urban Chaos

And I think that Tais SCI packages already include Hybrid things.

Also I believe that all the patches and fixes found here http://kermi.pp.fi/JA_2/Mods_v1.13/Urban_Chaos-1.13/ and http://kermi.pp.fi/JA_2/Mods_v1.13/Urban_Chaos-1.13/SCI_Tais/ are unnecessary if you use last version r4915 20120207 (http://kermi.pp.fi/JA_2/v1.13_Releases/Unofficial/English/tais/Old/UC1.13/)

I am sorry for the confusion. But problem is that forum and kemi download page are both a bit messy. But Deppressivesbot is right.
And my link to TAIS SCI (r4915 20120207) IS NOT latest version. There are few newer versions since I played it last time.

Latest version (Urban Chaos-1.13 v3.65.1 (Full) 20120421) that works with Stable JA2 v1.13 Rev. 4870 with all instructions can be found here and only here
