Once I found out it was possible, it became my goal to get JA2 up and running on my new Macbook Pro. My knowledge of the workings of computers is VERY minimal, but after a great amount of trouble I have successfully installed XCode 4.5 (and GCC), XQuartz 2.7.4 and SDL 1.2. I downloaded the precompiled package from http://ja2.monkeyphysics.com/home/osx that Tron put together, but after trying to run the application I get "JA2 cannot be opened because of a problem" it goes on to tell me to check with the developer to makes sure JA2 works with this version of OS X etc.
I really hope to hear that there is an easy solution to this! Any help will be greatly appreciated!

/bin/sh: git: command not found
===> INSTALL
install: ja2.6: No such file or directory
make: *** [install] Error 71
So, you managed to built the project with "make".
Just type ./ja2 in the project's folder and it should start.
"make install" doesn't work at the moment (I broke it by moving files into another folder).

Ah, okay. Cool, it launches if I double-click on the "ja2" file that it made in the project folder. Have to experiment, can I move that file around and have it still find the folder where it builds the INI file? That folder is hidden, which I guess is okay, but less optimal (I un-hid it, moved the data files in there, set up the INI file, re-hid it, and am off and running).
And it doesn't appear to read my saved games that I pulled over from Parallels, but that's fine, I can use this install to start my next game.
Большое спасибо!!!
Hmm, looks like it ate the Cyrillic letters. Bolshoe spasibo then!
