If it is possible to do, idea is something like this.

Item which can be equipped in main hand, off hand, or slung on rifle slot (carrying it on shoulder)

Main hand: gives mobility bonus for marching, and slight carry bonus. But main idea is to simulate trooper cycling through Arulco.

Off hand: Normal marching speed, except what comes from Hunter/Ranger perks, but great bonus carry capasity. Like Vietnamese did carrying supplies through Ho Chi Minh Road.
Simulates trooper walking the bicycle.

Tactical view: Movement penalty in ap

I don't think this would be possible, having a bike as usable item for hand slots and/or backpack slot (rtaher than rifle sling, IMO).

But should be doable IMVHO having a vehicle "bike" via the externalized vehicles feature:
A vehicle that offers only one seat and a small storage inventory etc.
Thus at least the "cycling by bike" could be simulated.

There is no need to use vehicles for this, an thus use up valuable soldier slots. This would simply be an item that, as proposed, gives a bonus to marching speed and a malus to APs. Altough then the carry capacity still has to be done somehow.

Nah, checking handslot for bike is cool, just needs a wee bit of coding to have bikes for everyone while vehicles waste precious merc slots and I dunno if you can even have fuelfree vehicles without messing with that code.

Great, didn't know that items could have a bonus for traveling speed.
Couldn't the storage capacity be done by making the bike a backpack with according slots?

You dont know that because they can't, but it would not be that much effort to achieve that. Making a bike a backpack would be the easiest solution.

Alternatively, a MISC bike with attachable packs would allow modders to make tactical bicycle bags for all occasions Very Happy
