I started playing JA2 as soon as I got my classics pack. A lot has changed and I like most of it, but My mercs don't seem to be able to hit anybody. I am playing SCI unstable revision 6077 and I am using the NCTH. I have a merc with 100 MRK and I even got him a sniper rifle with 76 accuracy and 60 range, but he still keeps missing. The same goes for Shadow, Reaper and Magic. I got them all good guns, but they miss the enemy no matter how close or far they are. Can anyone explain if it is supposed to be like this or is something wrong?

NCTH is more than just a pretty cursor. Headrock believed you should spend at least 10 bullets to kill someone. So it takes emphasis from "a few accurate shots" to "frequent snapshots/autofire". If you favor sniper rifles you should switch back to OCTH. But if you really like NTCH there are some optimized CTHConstants.ini files lying around the boards. But beware this will make enemies deadlier.

May i ask if you aim your shots? Right clic to add aim levels, spending more APs for more precision.

With NCTH, another important thing is optic. Scopes are very important, you should use them asap.
Other attachments may prove very important too, like bipods on (rather) heavy weapons. A sniper rifle without a bipod and a scope is useless.

Try to have a very narrow aim cursor: a very little circle or best, a cross.

I do prefer sniper rifles, so I will probably switch back to OCTH for a bit and then do a new run on NCTH later.

I immediately bought and equipped 10X scopes and bipods on my sniper rifles as well as foregrips and Lam sights on my Assault Rifles. I also equipped a Lam sight on my sniper rifles since there was a slot for it.
