Hello Everyone

One of our users OsamodasxD, has just released the completely new mod. This is a pure JA2 with a whole new maps. It's like JA2 Wildfire maps comparing them to normal JA2 maps with some improvements in the source code.

If someone would like to play with old JA2, but with new maps, then this mod will be accurate for that.

It's a test version, so some bugs may appear.

They have been worked out in every detail, houses were built on the piece, and the same with roads and roadsides, rivers, forests, airports, prisons, mines (including basements) and other related sectors. A lot of work and time spent to get it all done, raises a lot of respect for the Creator.


Course, there was change in weapons. At the moment, there are those who know the original version of JA2, but from what I have learned, it is planned to implement the rest of the UB JA2 and JA2 Wildfire. The statistics have also been changed a little bit, but to no spojlerowania, as it is very fresh modification, we will not publish them. Let each of you discover them yourself, know and test.

In other changes, the most interesting are the following:

- The rebels will no longer be inactive to us, we can only talk to them. None of them will no longer be able to hire, but in the first sector will fight with us shoulder to shoulder (controlled by the computer).
- Before you hire a certain mercenary, carefully check his stats and the price, because they have been more or less unchanged.
- All weapons will be available online, on the map, as well as used by opponents. Of course, the option will be implemented in full Drops All items.
- Militia will now be trained not only in cities but also in other important areas. Including Tixa, Orta, Estonia, San Mona and others. Additionally, in one sector can be the six mercenaries to train up to 28 defenders.
- Tanks will occur more frequently, and not only in the queen controlled sectors, but also in other locations.
- The game will be placed so. "Znajdźki" or hidden places in the eight sectors in which we can find very valuable items.

No, this is only for vanilla JA2, but the maps themselves should work without problems with clean version of the newest JA2 1.13.

I will check and write what excatly are these improvements.

Starts off ok , no problems other than it's all in Polish , as expected , maybe someone'll do a translation ?
Nice maps , though for me ,I'd prefer to have the screen resolution in 1024 x 724 .
It's as advertised , original JA2 reloaded and nothing wrong in that !
Give it a go boys and girls ( gotta be some somewhere , we can't all be lonely losers ..... Very Happy )

Couple of problems with this , enemy while dying , still stay upright and fire killing shots , and cannot the resolution be changed to suit bigger screens , say 1024 x 768 ?

I asked the author about it and he agreed to everything. You can take his mod and convert it to whatever you want. One request is that, to put author's name (OsamodasxD) to the new version of his mod.

Ja2 1.13 Reloaded Prototype

I'm in the midst of doing a 1.13 Reloaded Prototype, will need beta testers. PM me if interested.

What 1.13 Reloaded Prototype will be:
1. A map mod (similiar to AR) with a focus on showcasing some of the underused utility (non-gameplay) features that coders have made available. There will be no custom exe and no new exclusive features other than what 1.13 offers.
2. Stock maps from Reloaded will be used; while the rest uses 1.13 data. Strohmann's Stock Data Overhaul</a> will be integrated as well.
3. It's not a 1:1 conversion, main features to be maintained if possible with further tweaks and balances.
4. Difficulty envisioned to be a notch higher on the same setting, compared to 1.13.

Things to note:
1. Quests and cutscenes stuff are still based on Ja2. They may be broken in some ways like being referenced to the original cities but still playable.
2. Map Item loots based on Ja2 Classic items; they are classic maps after all. So this will be more of an assault-centric mod.
3. Some unsupported 1.13 features, especially those that require new data and tags before they will work proper.

Testing required according to priority:
1. Enemy progression balance
2. Quest-related stuff like their triggers, dialogue text and their required map-placed item
3. General game balance and bugs

Testing will commence within this month.

There should'nt be a problem with vista since JA2 runs fine with vista and win7.
Win 8 is different, tho, as it is known to have issues with playing the intro of vanilla JA2. So, if this mod has gotten rid of the intro video or allows disabling, it should work as well in win8.
One workaround, that may or may not work with the mod and win8 is to install direct3D drivers from "wine".

Thank you for the new mod. It has been good up until now. Ok here is the problem... Spoiler location of SAM ...



Upon taking over the SAM site ( called the Central SAM E-16 ). Which is located on the North Eastern edge of the map I get a crash to desktop every time the dialog between Deidrana and Elliot finishes, even if I skip the dialog it crashes out.

Any ideas and or solutions would be helpful.

Ok now to the common questions...

Yes... I did a complete Clean install of JA2 vanilla and then copied the download of Reloaded English version into the main folder overwriting when necessary. I am running Vista playing Expert - Tons of Guns - Realistic - Running the ja2ReloadedENG_test exe and have had no other issues with this mod so far. I have not changed anything else about the game.
I have taken 3 cities and this is the second SAM site I took. Still cant find Skyrider anywhere ( searched about 50+ sector so far ).

Oh and yea I have not been active on the boards in a long time .. but I do drop in and keep up with things.

Well here is an update to the SAM site CTD. I went back to an earlier save and used the GABBI cheat to kill off everyone ( but had to destroy the tank myself since GABBI doesn't work on them ) in the SAM site and when the after mission cut scene ran it worked alright. So I went back to the earlier save and replayed the SAM site normally and after taking the SAM the cut scene played and BANG CTD.
I tried retaking the SAM 4 times each time was a little different as you can imagine but in all cases I got a CTD at the end of the cut scene. I retried the GABBI cheat starting from the same save point and again everything worked fine with the cut scene and no CTD. I replayed the SAM Site mission again and even created a new save point and still got the CTD. This is making me not want to even try to continue. Any other suggestions?

And No I dont like to keep the Cheat status in my game files or it wouldn't bother me to just continue afterwards.

- Max civilian used in Angel sector. Need to remove 1 civilian for Rescue Maria quest to work when unescorting.
- POW out in the wild when captured in 'Alma'. Need to relocate their gridno and lock them up.
- According to the maps, Rat is at G14, not J9 in prof.dat

So, is anyone else playing this mod?
I played on vanilla, but the new towns are not there, the rebels i cannot find and there is no mine income, so I ended up with just my IMP char after hiring Raider and Spider for 2 weeks, only to spend everything on the militias in Drassen and Chitzena.
Any tips?
Has the 1.13 mod ever been released?
