Here's a wish . . . I wish that when Mercs have to retreat from a sector, and one or more of them are badly wounded (i.e. continuing loss of Health) . . . that if a medic is along the wounded can be stabilized. Even if the stabilization happens so that the wounded arrive at the new sector at death's door (i.e. 16 Health), and the travel time is greater, would be good. Perhaps the game won't easily recognize that a medic is there, so perhaps if a medical kit is in someone's inventory that would work. I'd even be happy if there was massive stat loss as long as the Merc didn't die. It's kind of frustrating when they die from a small but serious wound, you have three medics along, all with medical kits . . . and they just run the poor guy into his grave.

Yeah, I can load a save, cheat in the battle, and live . . . but what fun is that? I can also cheat and cure everybody before retreating (GABBI CTRL-U, which is what I do now), but it still takes away from the game. I'd much rather not have to use GABBI cheats at all.

Just a wish . . . that is all.

You will have to stabilize the wounded before you run away. Can't drag a seriously wounded soldier across the countryside. Another choice is to leave him behind to be captured. I know that sucks too. big grin

I realize. It was just a wish because nobody would drag a seriously wounded comrade across country when the enemy wasn't following.

But yeah, capture and torture is an option I forgot about. That brings another wish to mind -- that being captured and tortured wouldn't be a happy event and big morale boost happy But maybe that's too realistic?

Pff. You people and your habit of sometimes coming up with reasonable requests is the reason I'll never get to code what I originally want to! angry

Anyway, wish granted. As of r7772 & GameDir r2220, if ALLOW_BANDAGING_DURING_TRAVEL is set to TRUE, travelling mercs will bandage themselves if they bleed. A popup will inform you that your traveling mercs are attempting to bandage themselves (and each other). This is triggered whenever a traveling merc bleeds, and someone traveling with him/her could bandage him.

This behaviour is off by default. No idea who would rather have his mercs bleed to death, but someone will.

I know now that it could never work between us, as much as we wanted to, it could never be! Not because you're a rabbit, but because you're black.

If you want, you can donate to me. This will not affect how and what I code, and I will not code specific features in return. I will be thankful though.

Is it possible to extend this feature to cover all situation when time is compressed, e.g. when training in a peaceful town? Lately, I've been dealing with mercs becoming completely unbandaged when disease pushes them below 15 HP (is that a separate bug??), so I have to wait in tactical view for hour to change so I can autobandage them right away. Since the clock doesn't automatically stop when this happens, I cannot compress time at all across hour changes when this happens otherwise they all die.
