This is an annoying feature that honestly adds nothing to the game. How do I turn it off? I can't find the option in the .ini. Can someone tell me what it's under?

Vanilla feature. It's been around forever.
This is more of a feature request.

1.13: Install JA2, unpack latest, play.
AIMNAS: Complete 1.13 installation, Download ZIP and unpack, play.

Weapon jams can be turned off easily. Just repair your weapons to >85% (dirt and overheating increase this threshold). cheeky

Hey.
Each to their own. I know that I have play styles that would seem like "cheating" to some people, but I really like Weapon Jams.
I love the feeling of terror when it happens and the sense of relief when I have enough APs left to draw a pistol happy

Did that earlier: Buns FAMAS jammed first time she fired it. Ridiculous. That's why I'm here, actually. I didn't realize this wasn't in the game, or else I would've requested it in the features. It seemed like such an obvious thing to put in honestly.

Hey, on an unrelated note, when do you guys hire your second squad of dudes? I have 3 mines (Drassen, Alma, Cambria) and have MD, Igor, Mouse, Grizzly and Buns. Frankly their levels and salaries are increasing so much and they are already so useful (Buns and Grizzly are level 7!). But I feel like it's the intent of the game to hire multiple squads.

I don't really hire "Squads".

I tend to go in with a few Shooters and one or two with decent Med. Like Thor maybe.

Then when I've cleared a bit I'll bring in support staff like Mechanics.
After some Militia Trainers and then more Shooters etc as the need arises.

While I'm doing that I tend to just send out Fighting Patrols rather than take new Cities until I'm firmly established in Omerta and Drassen.

Though, that was with the old Wildfire etc. This new one I haven't yet taken more than that anyway but I'll see what happens.

In my most recent playthrough (at least until i decided i needed to start over; i have 'Character-creation-is-fun!-itis'), I took the same cities. Drassen, then Alma, then left for Cambria. Cambria was easy to take and hold, but i didn't have enough time or people to maintain Alma.

was playing on INSANE by the way.

I'd recommend a squad of 3-5 mercs (or more of course) per major 'front'. Left [Chitzena, Grumm], Center [Cambria, Tixa, etc] and Right [Drassen, Alma, and whatever is south]. Of course you can leave a few mercs behind in the cities for repair/medical/militia training purposes. In fact, i recommend leaving someone in drassen to help train and arm militia since you can supply your mercs with shipments there.
